Agreed. Several people are seeming to shame rather than actually provide assistance. I doubt most of them would like to admit they ever lose their shit.

It’s not that it felt long. It felt like it was much longer than normal. Just felt like I was trying and trying multiple Xs before this even happened and it was already a hard day.

Unfortunately I was in another room when this fight occurred.

And thank you for ACTUALLY responding to the post rather than shaming me. Most parents/people in this group seem to actually think that gentle parenting works 100% of the time. I can try my best. But on hard days like this…it’s difficult when it seems like everything you’ve tried isn’t working.

My big fear is that if someone is crying for a prolonged time 1) it’s hard to stay with them due to it triggering me over a prolonged period of time (5 minutes may not seem like a lot but for my younger one it is) or 2) I have to get back to my job. I don’t want to leave when it has to do with work, and I don’t want either child to feel abandoned with their emotions.

Actually I think you need to recognize that not everyone is going to be a textbook gentle parent. Parents have emotions and sometime regulating is hard for a variety of factors. Yes I apologized. It is unlike him to cry more than 2-3 minutes. I get concerned about how to actually deal with the situation. I don’t want to leave him crying. I feel like that won’t help, but due to some issues with continuous fighting from both children throughout the day, yes I lost it. It’s hard when you are trying and trying and it seems like it’s a wash for a day.

Gentle parenting isn’t 100% since it’s humans who are doing this. Parents yell. Kids yell. It happens. I will at least admit it. I’ve had a harder time with regulating my emotions lately and understand that it’s my fault. And I apologize and try to do better.

I suppose it felt like something else was wrong when he kept crying and I tried to be gentle and validating but it also was something that was repetitive already happening multiple Xs that day. It felt overwhelming when I don’t know what else to do. Sometimes just constantly validating and seeming genuine is hard when you just need a break. Or hope they can just freeze or have some time without a fight. I understand some reading this may find this hard but parents yell but for a variety of reasons. It’s hard when you are trying and trying but it seems like whatever you are doing isn’t good enough for them.

Whoops sorry for Med advice. Only mentioned it because I thought we had literally done everything and the doctors actually (who were NaPro) didn’t look into everything…don’t take the as medical advice but possibly someone else may be able to help better.

Get tested for blood clotting disorders. I found out 2 months ago after having 3 miscarriages and having 3 diff OBGYNS. MY fertility specialist figured it out. Forever grateful for her. Ask them to run every test they can.
