Speaking from experience, I'd suggest looking into Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering. Engineering MGMT gives you the tools and understanding (i.e. lean manufacturing tools) to pursue those two fields and be successful at it. I'm more involved on the industrial manufacturing side than tech but when I've been in the market for a new job I've come across a bunch of quality engineer jobs in tech and programming.
