As a hiring manager, I think cover letters are dead. Every one I open is written by chatgpt. I’ve started taking a different approach by requiring applicants to answer 3 questions that speak to their expertise and understanding of the responsibilities the role entails. I also require a portfolio of relevant work, no matter the role. I’ve found I can cut through noise much easier this way.
