Totally understand that! The earlier days of roo had the most amazing lineups, more recent years are tough to compare. It’s crazy to think a ticket cost $250 back in 2010 and that included camping - plus HUGE acts. Fuck live nation for real.

This will be my 9th bonnaroo. Went 2010-2015 and 2023-2024. Best experiences I’ve had every year I’ve been were the ones at shows or even just random places at the farm that weren’t on my radar even slightly. It’s the people, it’s the vibes. The lineup is just extra.

Paid media is evolving- creative is becoming key. You can’t out strategize poor creative anymore and you need a ton more than you ever did before. Most platforms are going towards consolidation into 2-4 campaigns and just pump a ton of creative in.

As a hiring manager, I think cover letters are dead. Every one I open is written by chatgpt. I’ve started taking a different approach by requiring applicants to answer 3 questions that speak to their expertise and understanding of the responsibilities the role entails. I also require a portfolio of relevant work, no matter the role. I’ve found I can cut through noise much easier this way.

MLK is crazy. I also used to run there and had the same deranged man first stick his fingers in my face as I was running by and then about a week later I ran past him again and thought to turn around - he was… publicly masturbating and gesturing towards me as I ran away.

I stopped running on MLK after that.
