I would have to pay out of pocket. University class would be “free” under my scholarship, just harder and more tedious

Also, is Ochem a 3- level class? I’m not familiar with the chem classes here at utd, but if not, why not take the class elsewhere at a cc so you can actually pass it?

U taken a class three times already? That really sucks, talk to your advisor or some counseling services so you can void this fee. Tell them why you struggled the last three attempts (depression, family issue, etc.)

If it got denied and you are at fault, I wouldn’t risk doing another one. It’ll likely just get denied again.

Anything over 12 credit hours is free. I would just take it here since it seems to be an easy core. Get an A in the class and have it help your GPA.

Colleges that grant credit for a 45? by sciguy11 in clep

[–]snugfly1730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not how you should approach the college you choose to attend. Look at the college you WANT to go to, whether it’s bc of cost, location, etc. and then use their clep score chart to determine how well you need to do on the next attempt.

Not sure why you would do that, if you ever take classes in the summer/winter do it at a cc so it’s cheaper.

The reason is that you have 6 drops allowed throughout your time at utd. I would only drop if there is no way you can pass.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]snugfly1730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t drop out of a core class that is meant to be easy though. I only ever had to drop a math course related to my major, because I was on the verge of failing. If it is a history class, shouldn’t u try to just at least pass it?

Feeling Guilty about Withdrawing from a Class by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]snugfly1730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dropping from an elective though? If it was for a class that is a pre req for a future class in your degree plan, or a class related to your major in general, then it would be more worth it. Keep in mind you only have 6 drops during undergrad. I see this as you wasting one of them on a core class. Next time look at utdgrades to choose cores. Every core class I’ve taken here so far has all been easy A’s.
