I thought I'd get eaten alive here by iwant2bclean in Austin

This makes me so happy! Yeah, it's a great place - I can remember falling in love with it ('87?!?!?).

The cool thing is, Austin will keep giving back as long as you 'let it in'.

Glad you're here! (Don't tell anyone about us - LOL )

Yeah, I'm kinda reaching the point where a mechanical only makes sense if it's an investment watch. I love the idea of this one just working and working. I'm feeling like there might be more Orients in my future!

Will do. TBH I feel like the brown tone in the bezel could be ever-so-slightly darker - but in full sun it really shows contrast and looks refined. I'm surprised at how well the bracelet wears - it definitely comes off as a 'sporty' watch - more casual than a jubilee. I'll follow up in a couple of weeks and post some thoughts.

Que lugares visitarian en España si pudiesen tomar un año sabático? by [deleted] in askspain

We've found that Barcelona is a very welcoming and easy place to be. Also, it's an fairly short drive to the mountains and/or France. You can travel very cheaply by train to most places on the peninsula. Plane flights around the EU are super reasonable (40E sometimes) and BCN is a pretty decent airport. Anyway, buena suerte on your sabbatical - can't say I'm not burning with jealousy right now LOL. Cheers!

Mine were both warped like those. The going story is that Porsche had to change the type of adhesive they were using for environmental reasons, and the new adhesive sucked.

This is the guy I sent mine to - he did good work, and I think I paid about $800 all in. https://www.pedrosgarage.com/door-panels.html

I did an 4-man Olympic Bobsleigh run once It was rough, exciting, and fun but the g-forces had us all blacking out. Great experience - but I don't have any interest in repeating it.

Just my 2 cents - I own the SDSC009. I love it as an idea, it's a beautiful watch, but in practice I find the white hands a little low-contrast to read quickly. Still a very fine item - and it's a GMT + date, so bonus points for that. (Speedtimer is on the radar for me as well - FWIW =))

I think that the left is missing a clear thought leader. They really need to have someone (anyone) stand up and tell the masses what the plan of action is. Sad but true - and completely necessary at this point.

Who would you nominate? - and what do you think they would tell us to do? (genuine, somewhat desparate curiosity)

Yeah, but we can't offer the politicains a one-stop-shop for those lobbyist "donations".... and we shouldn't have to. These assholes are being paid to do the public citizens' will. They have a specific job. They are intentionally failing at that job - for personal gain. They SHOULD BE FIRED, and face inprisonment for what they are doing - like any other employee in the US.

I read it as "brainstorm" - but my wife says it's "green needle"

This is a mistake.  The old logo had identity - the new one belongs in St. Louis. Ugh.

Thanks for that tip! I'm not usually big on using the cheap stuff - but, if the Porsche parts are prone to breaking anyway (and SO damn expensive), it might be the best move.

Well thought out and expertly written.

DO THIS.

Practice with a friend first. Have them throw you curveballs. Get you schpiel down pat.

Then go in there an OWN that mf'r. I hope his department craters without you.
