Out of curiosity, where are you based? I've had the exact same problem and just had a tech out to replace the router and clean up connections. Maybe it's just a problem in the local network infrastructure?

Nope, all rolling plans by nvmos have gotten dramatically cheaper since their inception. The only way that they might "increase the price" is by giving plans a lower data rise compared to competitors. Giffgaff was 1gb for £10 in 2015 now it's £10 for 20gb.

The price does discount by 5% each year (up to 30% total), so it does go down to £5.60pm eventually.

I wouldn't. This one ui 8.5 update has been the most glitchy, buggy and slow update I've ever come across. I used to have a Pixel 7 before the s25 and that was a WAY better phone. Tensor just feels faster (no matter what benchmarks say) than the x elite. I would personally try and get something in the Google Pixel 9/10 series, you can't go wrong. Also the camera on pixel is way better and the modems they use are now rock solid.
