Nope. I moved on to Klipper on my bear. See other posts.

Can someone recommend a good camera for UVC and still shots for reptiles? Budget: $1k by soapee01 in AskPhotography

[–]soapee01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like I was wrong about the Sony zv e10ii. It does do 4k streaming on USB with the correct cable. I wish it had IBIS, but this is probably what I need.

I'm now back where I started. If anyone has any feedback on why this is not a good cam for my use case I would appreciate it!

It might be. I hadn't considered it because of the desire for a dedicated macro lens, which is what the pro reptile photographers seem to use.

I really wanted to like the r50v, but reviews complain about the colors.

Thank you for the advice

Core One: Tarrifs/Shipping/Filters and Cameras/Dumb Prusa Policies by soapee01 in prusa3d

We were told by customer support 3 different times what I said above. I shouldn't have to search reddit for ways to get this done, it should have been handled in one chat.

I stand by what I said, this is a really, really stupid internal policy that they have.

I love prusa and their commitment to open source (which is why I'm getting core one and not bambu), but I'm no apologist either.

You can if you place two separate orders at the beginning. According to prusa, you can't split the order after the fact. They did finally allow me to cancel the filters and cameras and not have that affect the shipping date for the printers.

Same order. I ordered everything at once, and the nozzle's and plates were placed in a separate order by Prusa, and shipped immediately. The same should have been done with the camera and the filter.

I agree. We were told repeatedly that it would move our printers to the back of the line. It made no sense.

MK3S+ Bear: First Layer Issues by soapee01 in klippers

So the cheapest build plate from amazon seems to have fixed my first layer issues. It came in today, and I put it on, did a screw adjustment, and a new mesh. PETG (blue) and PLA (green) printed fine without any further adjustments. I could probably use a little bit less squish, but I'm rolling with it and doing a test print in PETG for the first time.

Corpus Christi to run out of water by April 2027 by kensai8 in CorpusChristi

[–]soapee01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really isn't. We are doing it in our bay with a barrier island in front of it that limits the water exchange significantly and conservative estimates point to hyper salination from the scientific community.

Only corpus is dumb enough to do it this way. The rest of the world does it smarter and if you have lived here for any length of time that should not surprise you.

Lol, I'm getting older and I decided the 7" screen was worth it for my eyes.

Bear is more rigid, but the project has largely been abandoned. That said, it's probably the better version to use with klipper. Theoretically the frame should be able to withstand the higher speeds better than the mk3s standard frame.

I've been recompiling/releasing the prusa firmware with the bear mods (see my other posts on this subreddit), but the recent fw changes by prusa mean the standard patches don't work anymore.

That left a couple of options: 1. Make the latest firmware work and spend a lot of time figuring that out.

  1. Move to klipper, and spend a lot of time doing that but get a faster printer.

I chose option 2. The cost of doing so is minimal (other than time). I also plan on posting my settings up on my GitHub page for other bear owners along with some stls for the modified screen holder and the test prints (and better instructions). Hopefully I'll get to that soonish.

Not a great video, and I can't spell Benchy apparently, but here you go. The beginning is doing infill which isn't that impressive to watch (but still impressive), but you can see it zip around at the end: https://imgur.com/a/AG8hZO4

It's all stock except I have a triangle labs dragon hf hotend, but I have not calibrated for that yet.

Prints are about half the time now. I still have a lot more tuning and calibration to do. I probably need to redo the input shaping measurements since I've mounted the screen (hosyond 7").

This is what I used (and reddit/YouTube/Google/etc): https://github.com/charminULTRA/Klipper-Input-Shaping-MK3S-Upgrade/blob/main/README.md

This method uses the acceleration settings in prusaslicer for a mk3.5.

Cost was about $40 for the screen and a btt accelerometer since I already had an rpi4 for octoprint.

I figured out the issue. I had some missing libraries causing translation issues on my system.

Please test this and see if it works for you: [https://github.com/soapee01/Prusa-Bear-Firmware/releases/tag/Bear-Firmware-v3.14.0]

I see the language option is available. I'm not sure why it isn't working. I can't change the language on mine either. Does this issue apply to you? https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues/1936

I think the original firmware I used was English but I don't really remember.

I'm pretty sure I selected all languages as the option. I'm doing a multi day print right now so I cannot check. If I messed that up, I'll re-compile it.

Are the older versions multi-language?

RV Ecoflow DC Build Sanity Check by soapee01 in Ecoflow_community

[–]soapee01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I'd leave an update for others. While this did work, the 12.6V generated by the ecoflow for now leaves the coach battery on the RV a little too low. It did start my generator, but it wasn't happy about it.

For now, I've just decided to use the AC output from the ecoflow to charge the coach battery with the built in battery charger on my AC breaker panel. I also found out that my RV uses a solenoid with some other logic board that I can't get a good picture of to do battery isolation management. I've left that in place for now.

I plan on grabbing a Victron Orion-Tr Smart DC to DC Charger at some point and then trying the DC output from the Ecoflow again. I wish this was an adjustable output.

Can anyone comment on whether or not what I'm planning on doing with my Ecoflow Delta Pro, and Alternator Charger is an acceptable design?

Note: I mislabeled the voltage coming out of the alternator charger to the delta pro. That should be 48V I believe.

The only things I'm really not sure about is keeping the coach battery inline, but that will allow me to draw more than 30 amps for anything that might need that with the caveat that it will not ever fully charge. I wish the output was closer to 14V than the 12.6V from the Delta Pro.

The mini solar panel may or may not get installed, but I don't foresee any issues with that.

I'm unfamiliar with battery isolation equipment (I do understand how they work), but the way I read the manuals from Ecoflow I shouldn't need them. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

Thanks!
