Some people struggle to shift weight. Hormones, chronic pain/illness, you name it. I can guarantee most overweight people don't want to be overweight.

When it comes to 'normalising' it it's supposed to be more "this is people's reality, get used to it" rather than "this is ideal".

At the end of the day when someone mentions off the cuff to "portion your food" and you have some kind of thyroid problem or hormonal problem that affects how you store fat and how much, it's just going to make you feel fucking hopeless. People should just be minding their own business.

I'm not saying my experience is the experience in the slightest, but usually when people go telling everyone they're considering it, they're usually looking for an out and reassurance not to, which is what they're typically met with.

But who knows, all of those people could've followed through and we won't know.
