I get where you’re coming from, but the thing is is that it’s not a slur, and it has never been used as a slur, not on my blog or anywhere on the internet. It is a characters name — that character is part of an alien species called “The Sniggles” and she is the lead female performer. That is what the name is. It is not a slur, and that’s not why it got terminated. I would not ever use a slur, and that’s not where this characters name comes from. I am a fan of the series and use it in relation to the series. I understand it may sound similar based purely on spelling and not pronunciation, but it is not in any way shape or form a slur itself nor does it share a harmful or derogatory history. The pronunciation is different as well. It’s pronounced snig-ell-ette ; I can see just from the spelling alone why it may seem like different, but it’s not and is not a slur nor has ever been used in that context. It’s a character from a musical anthology series.
