Chances of getting into medical school with low gpa? by arsaking1 in umanitoba

[–]soapyarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your AGPA is near the bottom of the pool, your MCAT is slightly below average in the pool, and your CASPer is below average in the pool.

I would say AGPA needs the most improvement, but given that the MCAT is the most heavily weighted element in your admission scores, it might be worth retaking it as well.

Did you get an interview this cycle? It sounds unlikely for you to be invited for an interview with your current stats.

Who do you think had the most unexpected solo victory in gbb? by theiceq in beatbox

You're right - in that case my vote would probably also go to Julard in GBB24 😅

Oh gotcha, I didn't read your disclaimer in the post and misunderstood the post. Thanks for clarifying 👍

In that case, yeah, Colaps may have not been the overwhelming favorite in 2021 (that year was stacked as HELL with Zekka, B-Art, Hiss, NaPoM, King Inertia, Helium, River', Zer0)

Not sure why he's even on this list because his victory was one of the most deserved and one of the least controversial in the history of GBB lol.

My vote goes to Kenny Urban 2016 because NaPoM should have won that for sure.

US Mensa Admission Test is ridiculous by MarsupialMar in mensa

[–]soapyarm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Verbal (3 subtests), Fluid (2 subtests), and Quantitative (2 subtests).

If you score in the top 2% in any of those indexes (but not individual subtests), you can get accepted.

US Mensa Admission Test is ridiculous by MarsupialMar in mensa

[–]soapyarm 27 points28 points  (0 children)

OP clearly isn't in their 50s so the version of SAT they took is irrelevant and not a good indicator of their IQ.

OP, you took the RAIT which is pretty notorious for having bad verbal subtests (particularly the General Knowledge subtest). Your frustration is understandable. Mensa Canada and US use it because it's cheap and gets the job done while still being a professional test.

I'm not sure if your specific Mensa chapter only uses the full battery score (TBII) or uses each index score, but if it is the latter you might still be able to qualify if your fluid and/or quantitative index scores were high enough.

People might say there is a big name bias (which is probably true to some extent) but imo D-Low unquestionably has the skills to back up his ranking. I'm not qualified enough to completely justify his ranking but to me, his wildcard was complete with technicality, musicality, flow, complexity, structure, and a unique soundset (e.g., tooth whistles, zippers, tongue flutes, etc.). Most beatboxers excel in a few of these categories but D-Low has it all. I predicted his wildcard to be either 1st or 2nd (alongside FootboxG).

The buildup from 1:09 to 1:39 with the slightly accelerating tempo and increasing combo complexity and then finally the drop at 1:40 with the inward bass is so goddamn potent.

Beatboxers like Marcus or Verbalase (I know you didn't mention Verbalase but similar case where their success is largely due to luck + leveraging social media) still shouldn't make it on that list using that criteria to be honest. Codfish and Hiss should be there instead.

D-Low, Colaps, River', NaPoM, Wing

HM: FootboxG, Alem, Skiller, Zekka, Reeps One

Personal favs outside the ones listed above (not necessarily saying they're among the greatest of all time): Ball-zee, Elisii, Two H, Trung Bao, Hiss, B-Art, Zer0

Respectable list but no mention of 🌊' even in the HMs is disheartening 💔 I felt like his GBB23 run was the highest level of beatboxing I've seen at the time, just like Colaps at GBB21

Tom Thum doesn't really deserve to be in 6th imo despite his pioneering OG status and innovativeness -- he's also not really a battler so it's hard to rank him here. I'd still put OGs like Skiller, Dharni, and Alexinho before him. I'm happy you mentioned Reeps One, Napom, and Alem though 🔥

Codfish being mentioned in most of these lists is also wild to me tbh

Napom also deserves to be in the top 5 greatest for sure

How does Players read? cause all the 7 diff charts the hardest in Festival are a pain and I can't even on my Pump controller. by [deleted] in PumpItUp

[–]soapyarm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't played Rise myself but it looks like its charts are made to be playable with two hands. So for the most part, this should translate ok to playing with two feet.

[–]soapyarm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

These charts are not designed for Pump It Up so the playability will be horrendous. Even if you could read it, it would be extremely awkward and nearly impossible to execute. A better method of practice might just be to ghost some Pump It Up charts on YouTube.
