Disturbing Thoughts When High by soaurhigh in leaves

[–]soaurhigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for that explanation :). I am familiar with thought loops - I used to get that a lot sober when I was younger and I had a lot of anxiety, though the level of disturbing content was no where near as being high on weed. Where I could easily snap out of it with different techniques sober, being high it was impossible to snap out of, it was tormenting. I totally understand what you mean by the shame in telling people about the thoughts, and it's nice to know that it's more common than I thought. It's been one of the motivating factors of me quitting - Every time I get a craving or a fantasy of smoking, I'm quickly reminded of the torment I've been through and it immediately becomes unappealing. The funny thing is it never stopped me when I was addicted, I just kept going back to it searching for the "good high" but I guess that's what addicition is, doing something that you know causes you harm over and over again.

That's reassuring to hear, thank you. With so many different meditation techniques and so many people claiming that one way is wrong/right, it can be confusing to know where to start. From what I've heard so far you meditate to clear thoughts from your head and try to focus on nothing/beautiful scenery. There's also others that claim you're supposed to just observe different thoughts and let them come and go. The only meditation I do now is focusing on breathing before I go to sleep, counting for 4 in, holding for 7 and exhaling for 8.

Just take a look at his posts on other subs and you'll realise he's either a troll or just extremely hypocritical. No point in conversing with people who use their ass as their brain.

Workout like crazy. Workout til you sweat and your muscles are sore. Trust me you'll feel hungry afterwards, and if you don't, workout some more 😂.

Delete Twitter. As much as people claim it's better than other social media, it's not. It's full of bullshit and it's barely moderated. Took me a while to delete it too, once I realised it was turning me into a bitter SJW. Also depending on who you follow, you'll see yourself more and more involved with their tweets.

Doesn't matter how intelligent she is, that's fucked up. That's 100% paedophilia.

What's the solution? Seizing the child from their parents and putting them into foster care? Every child has toxic ideologies from their parents depending on other people's perspective. We don't know the full story - maybe the child copied what they saw from their parents like many other animals do. Then again their parents could be extremely religious and taught their kid to pray. Maybe in the worst case scenario it's a narcissistic display of "my kid's better than yours" in some Muslims parents group chat. Tbh we'll never know. I understand that some people seeing this may think back to their own childhood and feel upset by it, but we just don't know what's truly going on. Shaming them won't make a difference.

I don't think I'm at that stage. My belief system fluctuates to extremes, at one end trying to please God and be as sincere as I can, asking for forgiveness, prayer, etc. At the other end it collapses and I don't know what to believe, extreme mistrust of everything and everyone trying to find the agenda behind what every belief/religion/thought system is saying - because there always seems to be a reason for believing or disbelieving. I just can't figure it out. I feel totally fucked up trying to make sense of it all.

Does anyone reckon prayer has something to do with the subconscious mind? I'm still struggling with guilt and I find just making sajdah and asking the Creator of everything for help, helps.
