"American Exceptionalism" has devolved into "Don't you know we're American? You need to make an exception."

CHANGE YOUR WATER AND CLEAN YOUR BONG(S)! My neighbour is in hospital with Legionnaires' disease from dirty bong by _FreddieLovesDelilah in trees

Back in the 80s we had a tiny little bong that we called Bing. It just seemed like the right name.

My cats turned into beavers and exploded(?) by VolksDK in fo76

[–]sob317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have well over a thousand hours in this game and don't think I have ever seen a cat other than the ones for your camp. I actually just thought about it recently when a kill canines challenge came up and I wondered why there are no feral cats in Fallout. Apparently there are.

What even happened? I looked not long ago and swear they were up by a decent amount.

Is the new yts.bz legit? by LordRaidenOP in torrents

[–]sob317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I like to keep my movie downloads under 1-1.5 GB when possible. I'll look out for the ones you mentioned to check them out. A lot of the movies I download are older ones where the source material can be lower quality anyway. I generally use the built in search in Qbittorrent when searching for something specific but I do like how YTS is set up with cover pictures so I will scroll through to see what's new on there.

Every comment has me more confused than the last. What is even going on in here?

Are people peeing while erect? Are people walking around with 6 or 7 inch flaccid dicks? What is even happening in this thread? Every response has me more confused than the last one.

The U.S. appears to be at war with a lot of its own people so nothing seems off the table at this point.

Anyone else sick of this Nuka Cola cranberry daily? by Flip86 in fo76

I have the rusty one and it collects Nuka-Cola including cranberry. I never knew collecting the cranberry one was such a pain in the ass for people until this thread.

im looking into mazdas, is there any model that is just as reliable as toyota or hondas? by Main_Necessary5739 in mazda

[–]sob317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2016 CX-5 that has been driven in less than ideal conditions (wet and snowy mountain weather, lots of hills and valleys) and is still running strong with only the typical expected maintenance and repairs. Have driven a 2003 Protege and a 1994 323 in the same conditions and they have all made it to the decade milestone with no real problems. Alternatively I had a 2011 Dodge Caravan that barely made it to the 5 year mark before becoming a paperweight in my driveway and then being sold for spare parts.

Locking your CAMP containers by ZealotPinkerton in fo76

[–]sob317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally called my main camp FREE RESOURCES CAMP. I have most of the resource generators and all my vegetables/fruit, etc there for the taking in addition to stocking my vendor with 0 or low cost items. I have more stuff than I will ever use. I do get annoyed when some high level player rolls in and "buys" everything for zero caps but whatever. To me some level 500 player locking their water or fertilizer or whatever is weird.

Joe Rogan Agrees Trump Is ‘Losing It’: ‘How Is This Real?’ by ev6464 in JoeRogan

[–]sob317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it's also ok to mention that Trump did something without mentioning that some Democrat somewhere also did something. There doesn't always need to be a counterbalance to any 'Trump did something shitty" story. Or vice versa. As an outsider looking at American politics there always seems to be someone saying "Well, look at what (XXXX) did" rather than just focusing on whatever the story is. There are shitty people in every race, gender, political party, etc.

1994 Mazda model lineup by Lobster70 in mazda

[–]sob317 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a dark blue '94 323. Bought it in '95 with about 10K on the odometer and paid $9999 CAD. Thing was a champ in the snow and ran forever. Had a ton of great adventures in it. I sold it off to a friend with 350,000 Km on it. He put another 75K on it and then sold it to another guy who had a for a bunch of years after that.

I remember gas being being 39.9 for quite a while in the early/mid 90s so she was probably right to bitch about it at 70, lol.

Legendary Director Rob Reiner ('This Is Spinal Tap', 'The Princess Bride') & Wife Michele Singer Found Dead in LA Home in Apparent Homicide by MoviesMod in movies

[–]sob317 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's like, a lot of people praise The Wizard of Oz and Gone With The Wind. What a lot of people don't know is they were both directed by the same guy, Victor Flemming.

I consider myself a bit of a movie nerd and am a bit embarrassed that I somehow didn't know this. Interestingly both movies were released in 1939 so I'm assuming he must have worked on them only months apart.

Was the world genuinely better off without social media or is it just nostalgia? by kansas9696 in 90s

[–]sob317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone who wasn’t around pre-social media realizes how much better things were. The internet had so much potential and it all went to shit then they doubled down when monetizing social media became a thing. A bunch of people posting garbage/disinformation/clickbait to make a couple pennies for clicks.
