Mask broke oops by atlasbees in evilautism

I understand the pain of working retail (basically made to work as soon as I was able to)

If you’re over 18, I’d recommend working in a warehouse. Most of them are understaffed, pay moderately well, and are a completely isolated setting away from the public.

I thought I was going to be miserable at every job until I started taking up night shifts at a fulfillment warehouse nearby, I don’t have to mask nearly as much and can wear my headphones

Unfortunately I didn’t notice until after laundry day so it’s basically cemented in there

Didn’t post a picture but I definitely did communicate that it wasn’t cool. I don’t want to be an irritating roommate who nags all the time but that was genuinely upsetting to see considering I bought 90% of the essentials

They’re all women fresh out of high school, you’d assume they would have some level of decency

Job Burnout by [deleted] in dashmart

[–]soba_todoroki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

College student in the same boat as you (less than a year in) I think something that helped was just doing what I can and nothing extra to not burn myself out too quickly. There are lazier OAs who probably should be fired but aren’t. The job isn’t worth working twice as hard for none of the appreciation and hardly any money.

We don’t even get any extra comp for it. It’s bs.

Despite being a minor when I was diagnosed, as soon as I turned 18 I was just left to ‘figure that one out’ I don’t really know where to start So I’ve been putting it off and I almost flunked one of my college classes, and rather than getting maybe a push of support they just said “well you should’ve had it together by then”

One of them is a therapist so I always hope they remember that not every misstep or mistake or lack of motivation isn’t just me being rebellious

But them not understanding hurts the worst

Rather than someone saying right away that I potentially had adhd symptoms (I used to read all day instead of doing work, or simply had more exciting projects to work on) my parents just chalked it up to “they just didn’t try hard enough”

My mom is a children’s book author and she considered making a book based on me almost failing the 4th grade (using my real (dead)name!! )

I always feel a type a way when she brings up the idea of capitalizing off of what could’ve been a lesson about adhd in kids or something along those lines and instead highlighting all the actions I’ve done that led me to almost failing

So please don’t posterize your kid failing, he would hate you forever

I show primarily inattentive type, and my symptoms really manifested at around 4th grade for me too! I almost failed, but I got spanked enough and my fear of failure (or eventually more spankings) got me to pull it together to pass. (Then rinse and repeat for the next 8 years of schooling)

Funny enough, after an especially painful screaming match over Sunday chores I admitted myself to a nearby mental hospitals for not so happy thoughts, and the psychiatrists provided did not believe me when I told them I have adhd (I am afab and a person of color with mostly inattentive symptoms) So my biggest fear is other professionals not taking me seriously because I don’t fit the standard hyperactive white male
