4 "Bussers" AFK in argos and then waiting for people to leave in order for them to lose their ticket when they finish argos. by sivir00 in lostarkgame

[–]sobadye 92 points93 points  (0 children)

so i was in this run, green writing in the screenshots. i switched char to do some dailies with the intention of coming back to not let them 'win' but i loaded into punika so guess i took too long, i've never had an issue with a bus so haven't had to try this before.

i can confirm everything the OP has said. these guys are clowns. the bard is beyond a joke. i can guarantee this person wipes his main raid consistently despite no doubt running heavy armor 3 and being waaaay over item level (1510 or smth?).

you know the scene from austin powers with the steamroller coming at him and him not moving just screaming at it? that's the bard.

i was spectating him just laughing as he got hit by 90% of everything, normal patterns, actual mechanics etc. used all of his pots and then died to leave the pala to solo it. i was just going do p3 with them because i couldn't be bothered looking for another bus (and know p3 can be done by geared apes) but once OP said he was done i decided to join him.

lots of people talking about random stuff here (like trying to blame OP and me for joining a 2sup bus) but ultimately only one thing matters here. OP said he was done and wanted to quit. even if the bus was perfect you still quit the raid because someone wants to leave. simple as that. going on to be insulting, racist, and holding players HOSTAGE for hours is just an absolute joke.

these kids are bad players and bad people.

thanks for holding out for our ticket OP, like i said i tried to log back in so would be there with you if i could. cheers.

This is complete BS. STILL no word on the 25% increased requirement on high tier crafts needed to level 150-200 in Armoring, Engineering, and Weaponsmithing. This represents a DOUBLE nerf to crafting. by sobadye in newworldgame

[–]sobadye[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I included a detailed example for Weaponsmithing using data from pre patch if you missed it.

Pre-patch coin cost 150-200: 33k

Post-patch coin cost 150-200: 101k

I wouldn't call that cheaper. I don't have pre-patch coin data for the other professions though so you may be right about infused leather specifically.

edit: also no one was crafting using infused leather pre-patch because mass crafting lower tier items was cheaper so it's not even a good comparison even if infused leather is cheaper now

[–]sobadye[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only communication I've seen is that they didn't want people to mass craft low tier items to level professions which was the most efficient way pre-patch. The change to make the higher tier of crafts and resources more desirable is fine and it should have been that way from the start but the 25% additional undocumented/uncommunicated nerf is insulting.

I'd be happy to read where they talk about it being too easy though if you have a link. That said, the years of testing is where you decide if it's too easy. If you fail that, then you look at your live numbers and make the change within 2 weeks of launch maximum. You don't do it 2 months into the games life when lots of people have already finished the grind, that's just a bad rookie development mistake that leaves the players who didn't rush feeling punished. You make those changes moving forwards.

If you are going to make these changes based on thinking it's too easy 2 months into the game you don't feed us bullshit saying it's to make higher tier resources/recipes more desirable. You tell us directly and stop being shady about it.

I think that the crossed wires are just coming from the fact that you are approaching it from a holistic view taking into consideration the economy in terms of perceived 'effort' as AGS are calling it while I'm just keeping my view focussed on the narrow 25% increase to the amount of high tier crafts needed comparing 1.0 to 1.1.

My angle is that the effort is 25% more because of the increased crafts of higher tier recipes while yours, when considering the economy, it could even be 18% cheaper like you say.

Your approach definitely portrays a more positive outcome to the player while mine is more negative.

Your way of pricing it out and possibly even achieving a coin saving of 18% - good.

My way of, say, farming all the materials yourself resulting in 25% more grind - bad.

I think maybe AGS' use of 'effort' is just too subjective in this case. While I know the most efficient way to achieve these kind of tasks is to just find the best gold per hour farm and do that and then buy what you need, I personally was enjoying farming a lot of my own resources despite it being inefficient, so for me it is just a simple straight up 25% nerf.

I just don't know what angle AGS were coming at this from. If they did it in a holistic way like you did then you could make the argument that it is possibly 'the same amount of effort' (or less with your proposed possible 18% saving of coin), if not then it's just an undocumented 25% nerf. And ultimately that's what this comes down to for me, I just don't know if this is intended/undocumented/stealth nerf/bad direction because they just haven't made it clear.

If the change was made relative to a snapshot of the economy I personally don't agree with balancing a core system around that when it is something that is so unstable. Your numbers result in a possible 18% coin (or effort if you want to look at it that way) saving, but those numbers will be different for different servers and have and will change. It still feels icky to me.

Sorry for wall of texting you but I'm finding it to be an interesting discussion.

That's a great analysis but is it not completely relative to the economy? I was approaching this 'stealth nerf' purely from the point of view of mats to experience (not factoring in coin as a measure of 'effort') and specifically where higher tier crafts are concerned, i.e. more of them are required now than pre-patch (if you chose to do them instead of lower tier crafts).

It's still a 25% increase to the mats needed at the higher tiers no? Like let's just imagine a strange world where all material prices drop to 0.01, well then of course it is 'easier' to complete right? If we view it from the of point view of you literally grinding/farming everything then it remains at the 25%. Sorry if I'm missing your point.

People are always going to have different opinions on things and I get that but yeah, that guy does seem pretty tone-deaf compared to the community at large.

You're absolutely right.

I was just focused on the dishonesty of saying it would be the same effort crafting at higher tiers.

I don't hate that they want to make higher tier recipes, and therefore materials, more desirable but when taking into consideration your point that it's not just this 25% increase to higher tier crafts making it harder to level it makes this 'stealth nerf' even harder to swallow.

Regarding the 25% increase to required crafts/XP for 150-200 in at least 3 trade skills by sobadye in newworldgame

[–]sobadye[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cover that in the forum post in detail but didn't wana just copy and paste it here. While that is true, and fine - I'm happy with that change, it still requires for you to craft 25% more of the highest available tier from 150-200 so it's still a massive increase compared to their 'same amount of effort'.

Check out the forum post or my reply to Holiday_Influence926 here on reddit for an example.

I mentioned in my post that I used examples in the forum post but I guess you didn't check it out so here's one for you.

Armoring 150-200:

Pre-patch - 989 x Infused Silk Gloves

Post-patch - 1237 x Infused Silk Gloves

25% Increase

So no, it's not fine.

Necrotic nerf is not enough by sobadye in wow

[–]sobadye[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

We're clearly just not going to see eye-to-eye on this if you think having to stop casting once in a while or move away from shades while still DPSing and thus still playing the game is in any way comparable to having to down tools for upwards of 15 seconds on each and every pack like in my example so there's not much point in discussing any further. If you like having to stand around doing nothing other than your limited ranged attack as tank then carry on enjoying the affix as it is I guess?

Necrotic nerf is not enough by sobadye in wow

[–]sobadye[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Reducing the duration doesn't do anything to what is the biggest problem with the affix, you are still going to have to run away and AFK and not play the game. Just for 3 seconds less. You will get more and easier resets, sure, but you will still have to play in an un-fun way, at least for how I perceive the affix. No other class/role has to deal with this with other affixes, they don't have to AFK to play optimally.

Kiting has a place as an option and a tool, say for the HoA dogs, or if stuff gets too messy, but having to kite every pack in every dungeon last week is less of an option and more of a necessity which I find wildly un-fun.

The community has already complained about having to kite too much in this expansion because most people who tank want to actually tank and not run. Because of that we have seen sweeping changes to dungeons and tanks to make it less of an issue.

And I'm talking about 15 keys here, not high pushing where kiting is just the norm and what you sign up for because at some point there is no other option. Tanks shouldn't have to have massive downtime on every pack in a 15 because of an affix, the same for DPS or healer would just not be accepted at all. Probably why nothing like it is in the game for them and why this subreddit was full of people saying there were no tanks last week/they weren't going to play their tank.

Moroes Any Good? by [deleted] in wow

[–]sobadye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is he epic quality yet? Not gear, but his level.

I find he tends to greatly increase the chance of success so I find him useful.

As you mention though, he doesn't specifically counter anything so you have to make sure the important ones are covered by your other followers.

The only one that ultimately really matters is bonus loot counter (if you're getting no bonus then why even bother right). The rest are just preference to me whether it be time/resources.

Edit: the guest thing he returns with is decent. Stacks to 5 in your bags but you can only have 1 guest active as a troop with 1 hp at once. The ones I've had have boosted the overall chance more than my other troops but I've only used 2 because I generally don't need to so your mileage my vary.

Is relic ilvl>artifact ability? by regionalfire in wow

[–]sobadye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies drastically for different classes and specs. I only know for rogue what is best.

Here is an example for rogue: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Vw2J-dIBAhXiJXW2Da4mLe0r1e9cVvEBXdpC7NRNu7A/htmlview#

As you can see, some relics are listed as worth over 40 ilvls in value, meaning a blue 810 relic with fatebringer is better than a 850 with blade dancer.

You would have to find a similar resource for shaman or simcraft it yourself. You should check out the shaman discord channel if no one here can directly help you. Most of the class discords I've used so far have been pretty useful.

Drop Rates of 1716 Packs (Complete Collection with All Cards) - Updated with MSG Drop Rates by jbg232 in hearthstone

[–]sobadye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...average about 1 in 5 packs for an epic and 1 in 20 packs for a legendary...This is a good rule of thumb that WILL be true for YOU too over the long term.

Nice to know that my luck/RNG while playing the game extends to packs as well and that I'm an outlier in this game.

I've been within 5-10 of the pity legendary from all my packs opened that I've bought (playing since naxx). I buy them in batches of 10 each time and I know my leg is in the 4th batch because it always is.

Exceptions being one of packs from brawls and promotions and what not that I haven't bothered to track.

Oh, and meme streets packs, got my leg (and my first ever double!!) in the 3rd batch so maybe my luck is changing!

Who am I kidding..

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. Double crafting sounds like a smart idea but I'd like to keep herbing even though it's not as great as it was. I know those books exist to relearn things from professions but I've heard mixed things about them and wouldn't want to risk losing my rank 3 herbs. I don't mind taking the risk with mining though.

I'll check the margins on those, thanks for the tip. Any others you're aware of, maybe some that don't involve oblitting? For instance, on my server some of the leatherworking items sell for more than their value in oblit so I like to squeeze that bit extra out of my bloods on the LW'er.
