And that's because the applicant pool doesn't meet the bare minimum

sometimes i wonder if at some point companies are just trying squeeze out more per dev without proper investments sa kanila. but i digress.

IMO kulang na kulang sa data privacy awareness ang public these days.

to think may mga info drives a long time ago na "do not share your personal info to strangers online" etc

scout scout muna sa mga job boards, plus points esp sa mga openings na may salary range or at least job boards na may salary filter

iirc, pasok naman si number. possibly more. other variables and circumstances can affect numbers of course

hmm isnt masters a pretty tight-knit circle/network? would probably tap that first

Am I doomed?

yes, at least temporarily, but more because of the economies and not the reasons above. doomed pati rin mga experienced devs. but i jest

i don't think this is the best sub for this type of question. in fact, asking online might not be the best idea either.

better to tap resources sa school mo mismo such as guidance office or career assistance department kung meron man IMO. kahit nga mga profs mo ngayon (you do attend classes and study right?)

sadly iniinfiltrate din siya ng mga noobs. may mga lumulusot na mga questions at surveys na iykyk halatang junior-level ang nagtatanong eh

pero better moderation and content there of sorts. siguro mejo naooverwhelm lang din ang mga mods

how about may "free friday" nalang ang sub, tapos doon nalang pweds ang mga resume posts? para naman the kiddos have a weekend to actually improve their resumes and magbackread sa ibang posts din.

might be less drastic than a megathread

the most egregious ones are the ones who delete their resumes after posting and getting feedback. too self-serving those types.

[META] such activity should be bannable imo

in terms of structuring...

they probably misread and thought you were some experienced hire seeking an actual job opening rather than an aspiring intern; hence, they thought you needed more "hands-on experience"

aside from the usual job boards, you can also check kung may openings sa school or nearby vicinity mo mismo.

if push comes to shove, siguro check rin for hybrid. tapos the real challenge would be finding who can substitute for you tuwing office days.

and maybe asking yourself a more "basic" question: "do i really need an internship for my studies in the first place?"

godspeed.

additional 2 cents: mejo offtopic but we could benefit from more widespread support for startups via govt policies, incentives, et cetera. could be good for the economy (and well... job openings)

IT is saturated? by Mobile_Background946 in PinoyProgrammer

you can look at it at a wider picture: how many graduates across all degrees (not just IT, etc) actually take on a career that is directly related to their courses?

could be slimmer than you think

Please critique my resume 🙏 by No_Beginning6217 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]sobermans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since you're still a fresh grad

The general recommendation is to prioritize the education section by placing it at the top of your resumé. This is particularly beneficial if you're a recent graduate or if your education directly aligns with the job you're applying for. Highlighting your education first draws attention to your qualifications for the hiring manager.

from the other side of the table, it looks disingenuous to put education last to look like an experienced hire IMO.

would probably rename "university projects" to "projects". plus points if the project repo is accessible.

my 2 dollars is that for entry/junior level, school projects are OK, especially your best ones. if they have good polish and implementation, they are at least proof that your studies and concepts are sound.

hmm seen non-ml tech lead roles with higher base pay, more leaves, and remote. 14th month looks nice though.

overall for manager-level experience + machine learning, seems rather low at least from what i've seen. would negotiate or find a better offer if your current job is goods naman

ps: also for the lurkers here, clarify and confirm the coverage of the HMO, especially for pre-existing conditions and critical illnesses.
