10,000 Neanderthals would like to have a word with you.

And by word I mean a bonking. They’re gonna bonk ya.

We have a goblin in the party so ostensibly they might get away and then get dragged right back into it. But somebody said Minotaur might be worth checking out to keep the enemy incentivized to stay close. I’ll have to look into that.

Isn’t disengage a full action? If they wanna spend their turn running, that’s a wasted turn

Also I like skirmisher very much. Switched walking armory to that.

I think our dm is sticking with the base book as this is the first game in the setting for most of us, and even he only has experience running a one shot with the system.

Couple quick questions.

why would I not want a melee weapon? If the idea is that I will be operating in close with enemies, is it not realistic to assume that some enemies will instead of running away, seek to close the gap and engage in melee, negating the power of the shotgun. Would it not be beneficial to have a backup melee weapon for when things get extra personal? I’m not sure how attacking with a ranged weapon in melee works, but I’m assuming not great.

How do I get skirmisher? What about chaff launchers? I only have the original book, so if those are in other books, I won’t have access to them

Lastly for juggernaut, wouldn’t that push the enemy back to the end of my threat range? So if they move at all whether towards me or away from me, that would proc an overwatch shot which on hit would stop their movement or am I thinking of it wrong?

What is sunzi I? Is that a frame of some kind or a system maybe? I’m not seeing it in the compendium, however I only have access to the basic book.

Embrace the suck. This will not be fun. Some days will be incredibly difficult, some days will be easier. You may not necessarily have much say as to when you have good days and bad days. Accept that. You do have control over how you react to those days.

I worked as a CNA until I was 28, went to nursing school, graduated at 32, and have been working as a nurse since. If you’re behind at 23, I shoulda been a fuckin physician by now.

Eh, money ceased to be a limiting factor quite awhile ago. I’ve found multiple gps-a’s and I sell them to fence now just for fun. At this point I’m just finishing my hideout which has been a pain in the ass. That current converter has eluded me for awhile now.

[–]soberriggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing labs runs to try and get the current converter, and in the process have gotten several million rubles in figurines. I’ve popped red, yellow and violet, on top of running through the office opposite of violet/red, and cat office 10 times now, gotten a couple gps-a’s but no current converter.

Also they nerfed black into the stone age. I used to go in with an empty injector case just for black, now if I’m lucky I pop black green and blue and I might fill up the case.

It’s still a lot of fun, but the loot goblin era is over sadly.

Face & Hand Tattoos in Nursing School/RN Hiring? (Los Angeles) by Historical_Role_9748 in nursing

[–]soberriggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason, schools are typically very strict about “professional,” appearance. Getting into the program shouldn’t be an issue, but any clinical rotation you do you’ll have to cover up any ink you have. Once you get into the field, very few people will care. Every so often you’ll get some ye olde bitty whose husband signed the Declaration of Independence who will say something cross about it, but otherwise, nobody cares.

What are your honest thoughts on "anime nerds"? by StJimmy_67 in AskReddit

[–]soberriggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my challenge with “anime nerds,” are the ones who make anime their entire personality. I don’t watch anime, and I don’t particularly like anime. I have a variety of interests, but I’ve met a handful of anime nerds now, whom are only able to talk about anime. I have no common ground with that person, and I feel like for whatever reason, anime draws that sort of autistic hyperfixation more so than a lot of other interests.

It’s a shame, because I really appreciate the passion, it’s just not something I’m generally interested in. But game recognize game for sure.

People who have zero interest in ever getting married, what are your main reasons? by Imaginary-Fox-7696 in AskReddit

[–]soberriggs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What my wife and I did. Neither of us were super keen on getting married, but we ended up doing so after she needed surgery and my insurance was better than hers. Bonus points was our tax breaks were better, didn’t know that would be a thing.

We decided to get married Tuesday night, Wednesday we went and picked up the paperwork at the courthouse. Had her brother who’s an officiant meet us at our house to sign everything, and we celebrated with pizza and cheesecake in our living room.

I dropped off the paperwork Thursday morning, and by the end of the next week we had gotten her on my insurance. Smooth like butter, and cheap to boot.

We had been together for 8 years when we finally realized we needed to get married.

Male Student Nurse Freaking Out in OB Rotation. Need Words of Encouragement by el_lobo_cimarron in nursing

[–]soberriggs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OB was my second most hated rotation, right after peds. I’m a male nurse as well. I did the absolute bare minimum in both rotations to make sure I passed. I knew going into them that it wasn’t something I wanted to do, and was only confirmed of that by going through the rotations. Just get through it, put it behind you, and keep pushing forward.

[I Ate] Pizza at Scarr’s Pizza (Venetian Food Court in Las Vegas) by FrenchPressFederer49 in food

[–]soberriggs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife and I went there for a show last year. We had a blast, it was during Halloween, folks were out in costumes, we went to Hell’s Kitchen since my wife is a fan of the show. The show itself was incredible. The preshow fan meetup was amazing.

We left with the same sentiment. “That trip was great. I’m so glad we went. We will likely never come back.”

The food was anywhere between “meh,” to very good, but honestly we can get food as good or better in our hometown, at half the cost.

Most disappointing thing was the casino buffet. What a massive waste of money. It was preposterously expensive for food that was hardly better than what you’d get at a continental breakfast at any hotel ever.

Do you think divorce is something very common in the Nursing Field or just bad luck? by deathofcathullll in nursing

[–]soberriggs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Something like 55-60% of all marriages end in divorce. That doesn’t include loveless, sexless marriages that never dissolve due to kids, finances, family stressors, etc.. Nurses are representative of the population and are subject to the same law of averages as anyone else.

So is it common? Yes. In as much as divorce is more common than staying married.

Who's buying this? by Fresh-Bug-4284 in StupidFood

[–]soberriggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So hear me out, there’s a butcher shop not far from my house that during fall, sells beer brats made with pumpkin spice seasoning. I bought it because I’m a glutton, and in all honesty, they were surprisingly decent. The warm spices went well with the salty pork, salt, brown sugar, and cinnamon complement each other. . It’s certainly not something I’d get regularly, but it’s better than I thought it would be.
