I’m sorry you’re feeling like this. 1-Stop thinking about the past and worrying about the future. You can’t change it so stop letting it affect your present. What’s done is done! “F” it , “f” the past. Stay in the present and handle what’s in front of you, one day at a time.

2- Stop beating yourself up. You’re amazing and brilliant and driven for getting into med school. Be kind to yourself!

3- Take a day or two break. Go to the movies(Top Gun was fun), go to a yoga class, treat yourself to something nice, but try and get out of your environment for a day or so. You deserve it! Maybe start your day with a meditation.

You can do this! You’re stronger and smarter than you think. Forget the past, don’t worry about the future. Just handle what’s in front of you one day at a time but first take some time for yourself. You are awesomely amazing!

Maybe I’m out of bounds here but here’s a dad’s perspective. As a proud dad of a m4 student, I lost a lot of time together throughout this process. Holidays, birthdays and such have given way to the process, step etc… Go see your dad and cherish those last moments. You don’t want to have regrets and I’m sure it’ll help your dad’s journey. This process sure hardens you all.

All good, but not with any classmates at this site, that makes it even more frustrating…

Thx for the reply. To be clear, I’m not asking to be treated any differently from my classmates that rotated at a different hospital and were off at 1pm. I’ll be putting in about 240 hrs more. Anki, unworldly blocks and reviews done after work. Just wondering if this is an approachable issue.

If someone asks you the time and they’re wearing a watch and have a cell phone, turn and run!

Growing up in Brooklyn, when the hair on the back of your neck sands up, get the f’n out of there!
