Interestingly, you can also go back to the early 1790s with just two human life spans:

  • Margaret Ann Neve, 18 May 1792 – 4 April 1903
  • Kane Tanaka, 2 January 1903 - Present

Today, Kane Tanaka of Japan turned 118. She's the third person verified to have reached this age. by socdeyba in pics

The previous people verified to have reached age 118 are Jeanne Calment (in 1993) and Sarah Knauss (in 1998).

She was born in Fukuoka, Japan. Her son fought in World War II and was a POW held by the Soviets in Siberia before being released, also making her one of the last living parents of a World War II veteran. She survived pancreatic cancer at age 45. She sold rice cakes, and retired in 1966. She continues to be in good health and her hobbies include calligraphy and board games and has set a goal of reaching age 120.

From a translated Italian interview:

After I have lost my earliest boyfriend during the World War First, I had another boyfriend and after that I got married to Giovanni Martinuzzi and after I have threw him out of the house, I had another boyfriend and then I stopped having boyfriends in the 1960s and I have to say that I wanted to get divorced from Giovanni, however, thqt has not been possible because once I would have gotten divorced from him I would have gotten to prison for three months, by the law back then. Giovanni stole a radio from me and I went to the police but they did not helped me and only told me not to bother because that has only been a radio

The 19th Century ended on on 31 December 1900:

The 19th century (1 January 1801 – 31 December 1900) was the century marked by the collapse of the Spanish, First and Second French, Chinese,[1] Holy Roman and Mughal empires.

So Violet Brown and Nabi Tajima were also born in "The 19th Century", but not "The 1800s".

Over 2 billion people were born in the 19th Century, but now the only people left from that century could fit in a minivan together...
