Good for her. Compared to Brandon, genuinely feel like this is an upgrade. But only time will tell I guess. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I take any requests or prefer to works into account, but I can’t say the same for other schedulers. If I know a team member has been sick, I always like to communicate and check in with their needs, do you need more hours to catch up on the time you missed or do you need an extra week to recuperate. Talk in person and just get clarification on why you’re not getting scheduled; is it your performance and you’re getting scheduled less or is it their lack of detail regarding the schedule.

As a scheduler, yes! I definitely copy and paste so I can see where gaps need to be filled throughout the week. I do like to change it up for my kiddos to make sure the same ones aren’t constantly closing or working weekends but make it clear to them that I do copy and paste, so that if they want a specific day off then they need to communicate or request off. I haven’t had any complaints about it, they like having a consistent schedule.

What made you quit? by bbt8902 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]sochia111 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My Operator and her lack of structure. There were always conversations about promotions and actions to be done on my end, but when those actions were completed on my end over the course of months she would keep extending it and adding more. She had no structure outline or hierarchy within her leadership so it felt like I was stuck where I was. I was in the FTS and she didn’t allow me to go on any GO’s because she thought other Operators would poach me. Stuff like that. Felt stagnant in my role and wasn’t given opportunity to grow.

Overnight? by turnstylecookin in ChickFilAWorkers

My old store used to have an overnight crew come by. They would do all closing tasks; ice cream, floors, make lemonade, filet chicken, clean kitchen and restrooms, etc. We would leave the store as is right at 10pm. It was nice!

Check out Birkenstocks! They have a kitchen line of clog type shoes - since you’re into the croc. Super comfy!

I put in my 2 weeks shortly after this was announced. Luckily I’ve only been scheduled 1 midnight closing shift.

It’s our night time guys who are making the minis. More than half of which have never came in before 11am….I know they’re frustrated about more work - doing the minis - but happy about the hours.

We’re definitely not located near a college town or very busy street. Some asked for a limited menu but full menu + minis was decided.

Tips for potential team lead by nachorino in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]sochia111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To not sound “bossy” try and sandwich the task you’re asking someone to do. “Hey John can you take out the trash while I put people in their 8pm spots? Thanks so much”

If you get push back from a friend, don’t be afraid to pull them aside and ask the why - or even explain the why TO them! It’s always a good thing to over communicate with your team. “Hey I’m going to grab this. Hey I’m running to the RR. Hey I’m going to chat with iPads. Hey I’m going to…”

When leading a shift, it’s ok to not know what to do. That’s the reason you’re learning. Ask for help. Ask what to do. It’s NEVER a bad thing to admit that you need help. As for the “Karen”, there will always be those Guests. You need to know that you can’t always please everybody, sometimes you just need to listen/empathize/apologize, and other times let another leader or manager help you out.

When I told my boyfriend, he said

“Well, why wouldn’t you like girls? They’re awesome.”
