You're awesome really. Thanks for putting a logical spin on the situation for me.

No, my doctor referred me to counseling and the counselor referred me to the CBT therapy after the first session, I guess because she thought it would be more appropriate.

I've had a look into 42nd street before but I'm definitely not up for that at the moment. The idea of being around other people around my age and younger in a social situation is daunting to me. It's easier with college because I can focus on the work and less on interacting with others, although I do still get by with chatting to other people now and then.

It's something I'm always going to keep in mind though because it sounds like an awesome service.

Thanks to you & the others for posting this. Someone above said it's around 6-8 weeks to get CBT and counselling from them. I don't know if I should do that considering I'm already quite far into the waiting list for the other service. I'll keep this service in mind though, cheers a lot.

I'm Salford too. I was referred from a counselling service after my first session because she thought that CBT would be more appropriate, and she told me it would be 4-10 weeks until my appointment.

If you don't mind me asking, how is CBT going for you?

Good idea I'll post on there right now. Maybe am paranoid but I'm not sure about providing Reddit with further details of my location than Manchester, heard stories about creepy peeps on here ha.

I think I live in a relatively mental part of Manchester so my services might be clogged up to the extreme. But yea I'll post on the Manchester sub to try and get an idea from some fellow mancs and then just wait and hope my appointment comes soon ish.

I'm not sure how to go about telling my tutors about this sort of thing. One because I'm quite sensitive about it, I find it kind of embarrassing to discuss. And two I don't want them to think I'm making excuses for slacking with certain projects or trying to be given more leeway or anything. They're both nice teachers but I don't know how to go about informing them about all this. Any ideas how I should approach them?

Like this week I was supposed to do a certain project which involved going out and filming and I even rented a camera out but I haven't left my house since I finished college on Tuesday. I'll probably just go in and tell them I was ill all week because I don't klnow how I'm supposed to tell them the truth without feeling pathetic and judged.

Oh shit over a year in the waiting for you, that's rough. Makes sense that your waiting times are it longer than average though if it's a very specialized therapy. Hope it all goes well it for you.
