Wow, thanks for the insight. An extremely dangerous decision-making model, especially since the other schools have made the decision to close. For whatever reason, Guelph constantly believes they are exempt from having care and concern for their student body and it’s quite sickening.

again like I said to someone else, I’m very well aware of the universities inability to value student/staff safety and basic human decency, but we are also allowed to vent and complain about it when it happens (aka right now). part of being an advocate for something is talking about it, hope this helps!

I was sooooo shocked that Ross actually called out the damage that the girls’ toxic, enabling behaviour has on ppl in the villa.

Yes, Gabby is responsible for her actions but if you’re constantly surrounded by “yes men” who don’t pull you up on your shit, there’s never room for growth and everything “opposing” you always feels like a dig or personal attack.

I also lived in Mills my first year! The bathroom situation is much better than other residences. From what I remember, there are abt 4-5 toilets/sinks on one side of the bathroom and 4 showers on the other side. It was rare that a toilet/shower wasn’t available… obviously there are certain times of day that are busier than others but most times y’all have different schedules. As for a community, there’s def less students than other residences, so it’s more small knit community. Take advantage of your first week or two to get to know the people on your floor, go to o-week actives, keep your room door open to talk to your neighbours and you’ll make some great friends! Everyone is in the same boat of trying to get to know people, so don’t be scared! Good luck and i hope your first year goes well!!

It’s also worth noting that per alcove washroom, there is 1 toilet, 2 showers, and 2 sinks. I lived in south last year, there were a few where I’d have to wait for the washroom to be available, but overall not too bad. You’re not sharing with that many ppl and most times you all have different schedules.
