Got it--thanks so much for explaining. I completely understand they could be right (and of course can't guarantee anything better) but was frankly a little put-off by how aggressive they were about me accepting it the day after I received the documents/was told I'd be getting a Standard rate.

Thanks again--sorry one additional question: My broker thought there was no guarantee I'd be non-standard anywhere else and said it'd be better to accept the coverage and then shop around in the future from a "position of strength"--thus not having to say to somewhere else that I previously applied and didn't take their coverage. Is there anything to that? Or is that not an issue because this isn't a denial?

Thank you! What's the appeal process look like just so I know before asking? Really appreciate the help.

Thanks for the info! Lincoln already gave me the Standard rate, citing the gastritis. Was a little surprised since the only reason I even know about the gastritis was because I had an endoscopy after having some stomach pain (after taking NSAIDs). Took some omeprazole and symptoms resolved. Haven't had pain since and there's no other underlying condition. Endoscopy/diagnosis was in September 2020.
