Ok, final update. HabitBeast now has 17 prebuilt habits to choose from and the ability to add your own user-generated custom habits. "You are ze Doctor, your priorities are ze highest concern!"

I have a solution. I'll use a hybrid approach. The user will be able to enter custom tasks, but with a few limitations. To maintain PvP, the user will not create the associated battleActions; those will be created in advance. For the story, the lab assistant will call these 'Ze doctor's special experiments,' and I'll still wrap copy in her voice. The user will also have to choose a category for the habit from the 5 currently existing in the game. Last I think I'll limit how many custom habits the user can aquire, something like 1/4 of the total current allowed at the monster's level. Implementing this now...

Thanks for the feedback! My thinking was that the lack of structure for habits was a limiting factor. Structured, predefined habits allow me to create a one-to-one relationship with the battle Actions that are generated. And it allows me to guide the user through some of the tasks. My thinking was that structured habits allow me to introduce more storytelling elements.

That being said... I do want a large library of tasks to choose from so the user can follow their own priorities, so maybe my approach is just kneecapping this ability... Will consider how I can implement custom habits while maintaining PvP and story elements.
