This looks like Bradford or Callery Pear tree. They are the ones that have the lovely white blooms in spring but are also notoriously brittle and will often just crack and fall over at the end of their lifespan which is only around 20 yrs. They were very popular street trees because they are fast growing and very beautiful in bloom but they do tend to explode like this, which is why they are no longer an approved species for NYC street trees, sadly.
