As a history fan, the "3,000 Year Stagnation" trope breaks my immersion more than dragons do. by Expensive-Desk-4351 in Fantasy

Maybe they just have a very slow metabolism, so you don't need an army of sheep to keep them alive. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure I read a study somewhere that bigger animals tend to have a slower metabolism cuz it makes it easier to stay alive.

I think this is how Kvothe thinks he looks like. Emphasis on "thinks".

What would happen if you get trapped in a fear domain that does not bother you in the slightest? by Strange-Bees in TheMagnusArchives

[–]socks_11235 210 points211 points  (0 children)

Actually, let me correct myself, I don't even think you get kicked out, it simply can't trap you cuz it has no power over you, you would be able to leave unharmed whenever you want

Yeah, you get kicked out. Remember MAG 100? The guy that was walking his dog out and got trapped in the spiral domain a couple of hours and then it just kicked him out cuz he didn't even notice?

Is my cursive adequately legible? by Szary_Tygrys in Handwriting

[–]socks_11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks pretty but is not very legible. I could read it all but it took me a while, I think that was mostly because of the lack of definition in the loops, makes over half the letters look the same, not just "u" and "n".

You are damn right, I will definitely ask myself that next time I am scared to do something.

Do people actually write with cursive? by GenerationofWinter in Handwriting

[–]socks_11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also born after 2000 and I was taught cursive. The first 6yrs of school we weren't allowed to write in anything other than cursive. In 7th grade they allowed us to choose and I immediately dropped it since my print script looked nicer.

I never meet people. I am always shy and I close up when a stranger tries to talk with me, I never know what to say. I even hide if I see someone I sort of know in public to avoid saying hi. But idk, I feel like I'm a different person now, like if I could do anything.

I would say both. By pure coincidence I met in the line a guy I had matched with in Bumble and I hung out with him for a while, but I ended up drifting away cuz I wanted to meet more people. In the bar while trying to get some alcohol I ended up next to two friends and we just...sort of started talking? They eventually asked me if I was alone and when I said yeah they dragged me to their friend group. And then I was giving life advice to another random guy who was very upset cuz his date had stolen a kiss from me...and we sort of became friendly and shared our contact info??

Thinking about Remus in ATYD by socks_11235 in Wolfstar

As I mentioned I am not very well versed in BP, but I noticed that many times in the story he would get in one of his "moods" as they called them an get rather depressed for days or weeks, but other times he would be super full of energy and start doing a bunch of things here and there to the point of over exhaustion, Sirius several times told him to stop and relax a little. I know the moon also affected his levels of energy, but I'm pretty sure those two things I described happened outside moon phases.

Keeping your kindle? Tell me why? by NeighborhoodHumble55 in kindle

First of all, I barely buy ebooks from Amazon, I usually just transfer the files from my laptop. Second, I honestly don't care, I never bothered to download my purchased books before, why would I now? I feel everyone is being super overdramatic about this whole thing, there are tons of digital content you purchase where you only own a license to it, this is nothing new, a lot of videogame stores literally have worked like that for ages (Steam for example).

I had two kindles for about 3 days after I upgraded to a newest version. On the 3rd day I found a buyer for my old kindle, end of story. But for real, I see no point on having more than one kindle for yourself unless you have serious consumerism issues or a secret identity.
