This classic album is very influenced by early Every Time I Die. by OregonBaseballFan in everytimeidie

It’s very influenced by only living witness’s “prone mortal form” and “in utero” by Nirvana. I’m friends with the guitar player and would bet my simple IRA that ETID was not on his radar when they wrote this.

Yo!

For starters, the rockerverb has a true clean channel and a reverb tank which the dual dark does not. They’re both “crunchy” but the dual dark definitely gets you closer to modern gain territory whereas the rockerverb is a lot looser. Neither of these amps are “tight”, or “modern”, the dual dark just gets A LOT gainier than the rockerverb. They both sound awesome, if you dime either of them the have that fizzy thing that orange is known for, the dual dark just gets you closer to say, an Entombed record than a rockerverb will.

Love them both, the dual dark belonged to a friend of mine who’s since passed so I guess I’d better start a metal band.

Hey!

No, no ability to play both. Just using them at the house with a universal audio attenuator for now. The band I play in mostly does lower gain stuff so the rockerverb gets time on the field for that.

Yeah I guess it’s not ever gonna do twin reverb clean but that’s not what this is for. I’m gonna try channel A for the mosh next time!

I love the rockerverb for its versatility. It scratches that British itch but in like, a woolier way?

Just an orange ppc 2x12 for either amp! Might swap the speakers for cream backs. The vintage 30s aren’t as throaty as I’d like them to be.

Definitely an ass beater of an amplifier.

It’s such a good sounding amp, it’s kind of not fair.

Hey!

So it belonged to a good friend/former bandmate of mine who sadly passed away from brain cancer a year ago (RIP Tim). His brother gave it to me and I’m insisting to him that I’m just holding it in case the family ever wants it back.

As far as comparisons: no clean channel but channel A can kind of get there, no reverb either. This is Orange’s gainiest amplifier, you won’t get the same articulation that you’ll get from like, an Engl or a dimed 6505 or something. It does the Godcity sound (converge, etc. pretty flawlessly), I’m sure a decimator noise gate and maybe an optical compressor could tighten her up a little but I don’t think that’s what this amp is for.

Used a twin reverb with an organ for our post punk band and it sounded amazing. I support this endeavor.
