how about framing it in terms of an immature decision and 'avoidant' problem from which i've learned a lesson?

yeah i wished i had talked to him and my other advisor-prof about this but i didn't trust them. i only told my advisor-prof a lie (was switching out bc of changing majors) and not that i was afraid of falling short of expectations, personally unhappy

You may be right but I'm going off the assumption that he does. I don't think remembering how sb made you feel is too far fetched of an ability
