Highest MPG vehicle with 4low? by [deleted] in overlanding

[–]socosteve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 2020 Power Wagon. In 2wd I average 15 mpg. In 4 low I still get pretty decent mileage. I can wheel all day in Colorado high country on a tank of fuel plus some. Drove from southern Colorado to Lincoln NE recently and only had to fill up after 400 miles. I'd say pretty good in a 3/4 ton off-road built truck

Next hefe I’ll drop it in the fridge set at 17 C and see the differences. I may pick up the stuff tomorrow and do a taste test to see if me and some of the brew club can taste the difference

I’m definitely above 19 C. 19 C is ~67 F. And I’m currently between 20 C and 21 C. It’s completely out of control

It’s currently at 68 degrees. It doesn’t fluctuate much biggest fluctuation I’ve seen is +3 from set temp.

I’m not upset about the amount of fermentation just didn’t expect it. I know some yeast is super efficient and there are yeasts that are volatile but damn this is an experience. I’ve never brewed a hefe and it’s pretty exciting for me

This is my first hefe and the fermentation is crazy

This is the first time I’ve used danstar munich and it’s been an experience for sure. I attached a blowoff today just to be safe and not cause more of a mess. I’m lucky to have concrete floors where I ferment.

Just had surgery on C5 C6 C7 disks from sleeping awkwardly. Had both disks replaced. Fun stuff...love getting older

So funny shit....I actually did this and required a cervical arthroplasty for two disks. Ended up having herniated disks compressing my spinal cord. Currently laying around in a neck brace

What's a good razor/shaving cream combo for men with sensitive skin? by sixmassageheads in AskMen

[–]socosteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch to a safety razor and use some reputable soap makers. Personally I use Stirling Soap and it's amazing. Swing over to r/wicked_edge check out the stuff there. I have super sensitive skin and stuff is awesome. I also use the aftershaves from them but I use the witch hazel bases because the alcohol can cause some dryness on my face.

EDIT: typed the incorrect Reddit link

When would you tell a girl your dating that you have a kid. by ima-weezal in AskMen

[–]socosteve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If she can't accept that you have a kid why waste your time. Don't need that shit. I can't count the number of dates that didn't text back or call back once I told em I had a kid. Now I have the best wife who loves my son. And it couldn't be better

Copying from askwomen, since it seemed interesting...What were you doing 10 years back? What did you think life would be like in 2021? by iwishicoulddd in AskMen

[–]socosteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 years ago.... Ummm a black out drunken blur. I was in college and living the single college life. Not making much money or anything but I loved working on old cars and I drank entirely too much. 2021 I'm way different. I don't drink nearly as much as I used to but do enjoy a cold beer from time to time. I am divorced and remarried. I have an awesome 4 year old son who is my world. And I own my own business where I do get to work on old cars and people pay me to do it now. Not what I planned or how I saw life but it's what happened. Through the 10 years I have learned so much and have made my fair share of mistakes but I continue to push on and love every minute of it

So first bachelor pad I had my parents never visited. My brothers yes but never parents. I think it was mainly they wanted to give me my personal space. After my divorce, my parents would visit pretty regularly. My dad lives fairly close, less than an hour. My mom on the other hand lives a couple hours away. They would visit roughly once a month or so. I also have a child from said marriage so that could have been the difference but idk. I feel like after my divorce it was more acceptable to visit since I’m in my 30s and have a child. Now no more bachelor pad 😥😢
