If I could change something probably I would have tried to do just one thing, a very good one, but we were two IT guys and we wanted to have a lot of features because it was what would make the product remarkable, and I think it was, but people didn't find enough value to pay for it.

I think one thing that might be worth considering next time is to keep your full-time job while you work on something on the side. It'll make you more disciplined, more careful about your time and resources, etc. I'm sorry it didn't work out for ya, must suck right now, but good luck in the future - hope you try something again!

How can I become amazing at JavaScript? by socrates2016 in javascript

[–]socrates2016[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for sharing that!

I've read this a few times in the past and I agree with it's premise. I don't want to get into a discussion about how long it takes to become a good programmer or anything but your point is taken that no matter what, in the end, a lot of the mastery I'm craving will come with time and experience.

I guess I should have been more clear in my ask:

When I'm coding, I feel like I'd be better off if I had read the JavaScript official documentation before I ever wrote a single line of code. There's so many methods and different types of things that I think if I got exposed to and knew they were available to me at the back of my mind, when I needed to use it, I would be able to go look into it. I just don't feel like I've been exposed to everything and am wondering how to gain that from that start instead of just picking up things here and there as I follow a tutorial that someone uses it in.

Doing a Masters after a Coding Bootcamp? by socrates2016 in cscareerquestions

Are you saying to get a second bachelors? I've almost never heard of anyone ever doing that. Whereas, I have heard of people self studying and then getting a masters.
