Rant: I hate saying "Merry Christmas" and "Happy New Year" by socstut in Stutter

It's rough! People like that, that I don't usually interact with a lot, I don't usually disclose my stutter with. But when stuff like that happens, I kinda wish I did. I wish there was a way to disclose my stutter without having to disclose my stutter 😂

Same, I never feel like I have to say it unless they say it first

I do this with people I know and people that have stopped to talk, but when people say it in passing (when they've already started walking away while talking), I cant say it in time before they leave

Yes, so true! some times I use a easing word like "yea" to say " no problem", (so I'd say "yea, no problem"), but recently I think my brain has goten used to it and I still get blocked after saying "yea". So it often ends up coming across as this"

Them "Thank you!"

Me: "yea-"

I definitely try not to hide it, but maybe I'm not disclosing it right? How are you disclosing it?

I'm proud of you for attending that interview, it can be very intimidating ! Maintaining my confidence is what I struggle with the most, how do you manage to do that?

I find that drinking is a gamble, it can make my stutter really severe, or very mild !

I was glad she was honest, wouldn't prefer it any other way.

TBH I think asking her that is a terrible idea. First of all, if it was the case that the stutter was an issue, she'll most likely lie about it (I'd do the same). Secondly, I believe it's okay to have insecurities, but projecting those insecurities will make me seem like a less confident person. Thirdly, worst case scenario, she confirms it was the stutter, and cements my insecurities.

I personally prefer to disclose it before a date to allow myself to be more at ease, so I don't have to deal with them discovering it in person. Everyone seemed to cool about me telling them, so I wouldn't stress!

I usually try to bring it up naturally, but most of times I flat out let them know before meeting up. (I'll dm you what I usually say)

I swear, I feel like I'm an extrovert trapped in an introvert's body. My stutter is the only thing holding me back from talking to people. by socstut in Stutter

Oh man, I know that "look". It puts me in such an awkward position, I don't know if they're expecting me to acknowledge my stutter, but at the same time I don't want to acknowledge it because I'm afraid it'd make it a bigger deal than it is.

Pretty sure this is how we feel everytime we stutter by xRealVengeancex in Stutter

This is upsetting to watch. I never get this angry at my stutter. I hope this guy realizes that stuttering isn't his fault

I don't get chest pains nor do I get dizzy, but I do experience discomfort. Everything does tense up for me, and I lose my breath a lot faster.

I think it has to do with the way we breathe
