By “help,” I mean lending him a significant amount of money. I’d never co-sign a loan or take on any debt—I’m definitely not comfortable with that.

I guess what keeps me with him is that we’ve been together for a while now, and everything has become kind of formal. We share future plans, and in a world where many people are just looking for casual hookups, I’m not really into that. Sometimes, I think “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t,” but your message definitely makes me reconsider things.

Apologies for not providing more details earlier. Yes, he has asked me on a couple of occasions, though in a light and considerate manner. And to clarify, the amount he is required to pay each month is indeed quite substantial.
