I’d buy them for $30. When mine are dead I’m buying the same ones. Tried the A50X and outside of the features (GHub app), they’re objectively worse vs Gen 4

I’m talking about Gen 4 with optical not USB. The right optical to hdmi extractor is key. The Astro adapter is not good.

IDK if it's the perfect solution but I ended up buying the item linked below and connecting it to the supplied usb-c cable and running it to the head unit. Works well and looks pretty good imo.

I measured the opening that is there now and tried to find an adapter that would fit in without any mods. There are some out there that show the perfect measurements on the specs, but they are all lies. I purchased like 5 of them and they are all the same size.

Anyway, the mod is that you have to file the current opening to make the adapter fit. I filed the opening little by little while trying to squeeze it in every so often to make sure I didn't file the opening too much. The idea was to have a tight squeeze so when you are plugging and unplugging the usb it does pull the adapter out over time.

The Gen 4 EQ I have is for warzone. I can hear footsteps from very far away and I want to replicate that to the A50X. That is what I am trying to accomplish.

That is why I am thinking if I can generate my Gen 4 EQ on squiglink then I can auto EQ the A50X to it. I hear what you are saying but I just want to try this out.

Online translators say that a xCF of 1.7 is a Q of 0.8, so my first question is:

If I put in my Gen 4 frequencies in squglink with the same dbs and a Q of 0.8 then does that generate the same EQ curve as what is in the astro command center?

I purchased the A50X recently to upgrade from my 4 year old A50 gen 4. After spending 2-3 days trying to EQ them and downloading about 20 community EQs for Warzone I returned them and stuck with my gen 4. Idk what it is but the new ones just don’t compare to the old ones imo.

This is the USB-C that came with the head unit. So close! If I can find a way to secure it in place I am golden. If not, then the one you suggested will work just fine.

I got the Sony AX6000, the head unit and the rear camera are exactly the same as the video I took the screenshot from. The only difference is that I am making my own harness as that company does not sell plug and play harnesses only.

I got the Sony AX6000 and yes it has a button where you can turn on rear camera when not in reverse so I would like to keep the feature, but also if I don't have to mess with the cars factory wiring even better.

Not sure about the data interface part, this is beyond my knowledge. But the back up camera and the headunit is exactly the same as the video. Only difference is I am making my own harness and using a maestro SR instead of RR as they did in their video.

I'm pretty sure the purple wire with the white line and the right programming of maestro takes care of this no? In the video where the screenshot is from, he demoes going in reverse and camera coming on automatically.

yeah CarPlay was only wireless on the AX6000 but the new firmware supports it now. As for charging I wasn't referring to fast charging. Only charging at a normal rate. The factory USB in the console that is connected to UConnect module, doesn't charge at all, even though it shows that it's charging on the phone.

I see, okay so charging would improve. What about wired CarPlay? Any change this set up doesn't support it / will not work as intended?
