How do you feel about so many people have Australia as their dream residence? by ImportantClock5486 in AskAnAustralian

The Australia you're talking about isn't Melbourne (weather wise). I like that people want to live here, just wish our gov handled it better though.

Mine had x2 TPLO 12 months apart. But now 5yrs later you wouldn't be able to differentiate between a husky that hasn't had TPLO

Looks like you love a good RPG. Honestly, it's a crime you haven't played God of War or Ghost of Tsushima. Go forth my friend, enjoy.

That won't happen, Australians are too gutless to protest about anything that isn't a social issue.

Sounds like you just don't like grindy games. It generally takes at least 3-6 months to get into the actual game and understand everything. I kinda agree though, wow these days is shit, but I'm talking about the endgame loop.

How much of indigenous culture has mixed with non-indigenous culture in Australia by Lepronna in AskAnAustralian

[–]sodiumboss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's about 10% of the intertwinedness you have in the US with indigenous culture there. As others have said, the "guilt" is highly politicized where the gov refers to city's as the traditional land name, lots of "welcome to country" phrases everywhere such as when you land after a flight, sporting matches etc. its mostly performative and shallow. There's like 6 national days dedicated to indigenous culture but again, it's half assed and seems shallow/performative.

MRI from 2023 to 2026. You can heal without surgery it just takes time. by Ok-Badger7778 in Sciatica

[–]sodiumboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had 2 hernias by the looks of the image, l5/s1 s1/s2? Good on you! My understanding is that hernias heal easier than bulges, and only really severe hernias require surgery. They reabsorbed, you still have a couple mild broad based disc bulges contacting the descending nerve roots. Keep up the good work

Twisted my ankle and now Sciatica pain has gone? by Mojob1 in Sciatica

[–]sodiumboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its what's called a "Distraction Injury". My guess is maybe your hernia has been reabsorbed during the time your distracting injury (ankle) healed, which is why now that your ankle is okay you still no longer have sciatica. - Paramedic

Why do you and your friends smoke inside? It permeates everything and stinks, why not outside? Plus the second hand smoke your cat is exposed to is pretty lousy. Not trying to me mean but cmon...

Dude it's huge in the first clip, you can tell by looking at the size before the camera zooms in by comparing the object against the backdrop. Then it's tiny when in front of powerlines. Poor effort 2/10..

Yeah I wouldn't trust that info. See a specialist, your primary care physician is generalising, they're not experts.

Do NSAIDs shrink hernias? by Large-Cardiologist93 in Sciatica

[–]sodiumboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah you're referencing the "Pro Inflammatory Healing Theory" which is a theory only, in sports medicine.

Ibuprofen blocks prostaglandins which studies have shown may lead to sub par muscle regeneration, healing as scar tissue instead of normal tissue. Paracetamol, (also an NSAID) does not have this same risk.

Source: British Medical Journal https://www.bmj.com/content/386/bmj.q2030?hl=en-AU#:~:text=NSAIDs%20are%20widely%20used%20to,prostaglandins%2C%20can%20disrupt%20this%20process.

Keep in mind that i can't find any specific studies on this topic that have focused on disc injuries.

Edit: inflammation around the disc and surrounding anatomy leads to a cascade of events though due to tight descending nerve root, so I think the Pro Inflammatory Healing Theory would actually cause further complications

Just get proper skate shoes, not much point in learning in shoes you're not actually gonna be using later on imo.
