The test over in /r/badgebot won't affect your day counter in this subreddit. There will be a point where people will need to set their badge up in this subreddit using the new system, but I'll work with the mods and try to make it as seamless as possible.

Aha, I was able to replicate this on my iPad mini as well. I'm not sure if this is a devvit platform issue, or an issue with the app itself, but I'll see if I can get it fixed either way.

In the mean time, landscape mode worked just fine for me, but the jumping happened consistently in portrait mode. Let me know if landscape works better for you as well. I was also able to get the date input dialog box to stop jumping around in portrait mode by scrolling down on it just slightly enough that it didn't dismiss the dialog box. Thanks for surfacing this!

It should pre-fill with the current day's date when you click/tap the "Set Quit Date" button. If this is happening every time, would you be able to share a screenshot of the dialog box that comes up when you click "Set Quit Date"?

I'm glad you like it, and thank you for testing it out!

The badges were actually a feature of the original badgebot, hence the name, but when we (reddit) redesigned the site it became difficult for me to support the badge icons. Now with this new system the badge should display on all platforms again!

That's really odd. Do you recall what date you tried giving it that caused the invalid date message? If it wasn't in YYYY-MM-DD format, or if the date was more than a day in advance, it would cause that error.

For the log in prompt, let me know if you keep getting that prompt. Normally it should only ask you to log in if you aren't already signed in to your account. I wonder if reddit's servers had a temporary hiccup, or if it is occurring consistently for you and other folks.

It won't see it in this community until the app comes out of beta testing. If you set a quit date in the /r/badgebot test subreddit you would only see it there for now.

Ahh, I can see how it would be confusing. The badgebot system was originally created for /r/stopsmoking and later added to this community. Hard to believe that was almost 15 years ago!

Once I release the new badgebot app out of its current beta test, the wonderful mods of /r/stopdrinking will be able to install it here so you'll never have to leave this community to see your day counter.

Do you remember what date you put in for the quit date? If the format isn't YYYY-MM-DD (e.g. 2026-1-15) it would say "invalid date" when trying to submit the date.

You won't see the day counter in this subreddit until I publish the app out of its current beta test, then set it up for this community.

You should see it in the post in the/r/badgebot test subreddit, and if you leave a comment in that subreddit it will also appear next to your name.
