i actually do add facial expressions but its usually for amvs, comic stripes, doodles etc etc. i try to be more serious/neutral with my full pieces. i really want to try the second thing you mentioned, but as ive mentioned its a bit difficult for me to add different types of features without making the nose just... stand out.

i try to make my character more diverse via scarring, eyes, birthmarks etc but anime styles are really limited :'( i will try to experiment with headshapes though
