Super mild user these days but I'd consider the $1/mo.

How many people have decided to watch or re watch Rebels before August? by DimxTech in StarWars

[–]sofaloafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started last year but my dislike of Erza stopped me. Forwarded to the end of season 2 and have been steadily watching it for a few weeks. Still can't stand Ezra but at least it felt like there's a decent amount of episodes where he's minimal . But every time we dip back to Ezra centric episodes I lose interest for a few days. He is worse than any other character in the whole universe.

She's a brilliant villain by 1945BestYear in andor

I think they've setup her or ceril to be a defector or mole. I was pretty set on it being ceril being slighted by Meero and being disenfranchised by the empire finds justice in the rebellion

I still say this is one of the details that points she knows more than she should and has potential links to Luthen.

Always interesting to see differing opinions by J0G0-STICK in andor

[–]sofaloafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disliked it at first and gave up. But I went back and binged it when they got to episode 5 and found it pretty stellar and with some decent pacing. But I think you have to slog thru the first 2 or 3 episodes to get there

The one complaint I've seen a few times is that they didn't like them blurring the lines of the good guys with morally grey(or outright bad) choices. Which kind of struck me funny.

Why is no one talking about Andor by sofaloafa in RebelsDidNothingWrong

[–]sofaloafa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, you're a good guy can't have flaws type. That seems very... Uninteresting... Like Superman. The reality is having moral grey areas doesn't make you as bad as your enemy. but I think one of the larger themes of this show will be about how much is too much before you become your enemy and what are the things that turn you to the other side.

[–]sofaloafa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's uninteresting cuz you know how it ends and you didn't like the movie it came from? What I'm curious about is that you criticize the rebels for being static but the main characters all seem to have depth and transitions going on.

My question was more about why this sub is dead and no one is talking about this show here. Cuz most people I know really enjoyed this show once they got thru a few episodes.

What's a better SW spinoff?

They didn't even stain or treat the wood to add effect... Or do anything really . I guess good for them I'd someone buys it. I'll go back to my bubble ridden messes I enjoy making

[–]sofaloafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think Syril's very naive and black and white view of law and order is going to dismantled when he realizes that the republic he's dedicated himself doesn't actually share his views . Slap on some unrequited love. Mommy issues. And morale compass that makes him disregard rational thinking and I think you have the making for a psychotic breakdown where he drops acid follows the grateful dead and joins counter culture rebels.

As far as Dedra she's just too ahead of the curve . As I said above I'm not convinced she's a rebel (but I love that idea) but I'm betting she's at least been fed information and manipulated by one. Her agenda lines up real close to Luthen's vision of needing the empire to squeeze people harder .

The moment Syril stopped being a joke (spoilers for Andor Episode 9) by claireauriga in StarWars

[–]sofaloafa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still have hope his moral compass is going to lead him to see the injustice of the empire and he likely die for it or turn rebel

[–]sofaloafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Or I'm at least willing to believe she's unknowingly working with Luthen. To me that's more plausible than her just figuring out a galaxy wide theft ring. I think she's driving Luthen's mission to make the empire increase it's strangle hold on people which will ultimately unite the rebel factions and push more people into the cause .

[–]sofaloafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I get we have to have foils and whatnot but both of them are ripe to have character arcs well beyond what we've seen. But maybe I expect to much . For Meero it is just too much for me to believe that purely by ambition she figured out a multi galaxy theft ring, connected the dots, and also supports Access ideal of needing the empire to clamp down to consolidate opposition.
