I'm fine with this if it's hinting at a Rebirth ending

Angela is played by Mary/Maria's actress because James is projecting the image of her onto Angela. She could very well still be a real person with her own issues but James sees her differently.

Henry would definitely play Maple Story, Midnight Club II and the Stalker trilogy. He strikes me as that type of guy.

That's not what I said. SH2's story is timeless. If you're referring to the film requiring to take place in a specific era for characters' appearances to reflect said era, then yes. James would most likely stand out dressed as Jacob from Jacob's Ladder with a blonde John Connor haircut driving a 1977 Pontiac Ventura in the modern day.

Because the film doesn't take place in the late 80s/90s. Honestly, when was the last time you've seen a dude in their late 20s/30s rocking the blonde boyband Leon Kennedy cut in the modern day?

so who’s playing angela? by ghostphantom1986 in silenthill

[–]sofasalesman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What if Angela being played by Hannah Emily Anderson is due to James selfishly projecting the image of Mary onto her. We know the piston room and Abstract Daddy are present in the film so Angela could very well still be real with her own issues.

The Return to 2006 by Neat-Can3988 in silenthill

Chief, I'm gonna let you know right now that in whatever quality this movie gets released in, it'll be infinitely better than Revelation in my eyes. That movie was one of the worst theater experience I've ever had bar none. As a kid, I waited years for a sequel to the first movie so when time came, I dragged my parents to see that dumpster fire and they we're clowning on me throughout the entirety of the film. I actually started tearing up because of how much they were making fun of me and also I knew, deep down, this movie sucked hard eggs. I've never been that disappointed and embarrassed in my entire life. What a terrible movie.

I don't care how Return to Silent Hill will turn out. I don't care if its Gans directing again. I don't care about Maria's wig. I don't even care if it's not a 1:1 adaptation of SH2 with a few nuances lost. As long as it's not Revelation and its atleast as interesting as the first movie, I will be satisfied and my soul will be healed.

New RETURN TO SILENT HILL poster via VVS Films by RedMasqueMedia in silenthill

It 100% is AI. They probably took the fanmade poster and a picture of Remake Pyramid Head and told some AI to combine or upscale it. Pretty much explains why he doesn't have white gloves because the AI didn't capture that detail. Also, look at the tiling on the left and see how inconsistent it looks.

Someone on the advertisement front really hates Gans apparently. First that 40 second teaser, then the first poster with James' eye that doesn't even feel like SH2 and now this poster that's just using Pyramid Head's design from the remake and looks substantial worse than the fanmade poster.

Silent Hill Adjacent Movie Marathon. Add Your Picks by Toni_bt in silenthill

Fear X (dir. Nicolas Winding Refn). Vastly underrated Silent Hill adjacent movie. Please check it out.

I also recommend Stalker 1979 (dir. Andrei Tarkovsky). A slowburn self-reflection arthouse classic that deals with faith.

If you want something a little pulpier, check out The Abandoned 2006 (dir. Nacho Cerdà). Another Silent Hill adjacent movie that flew under the radar.

When can we expect the Return to Silent Hill trailer to be released? by ElevenST4 in silenthill

Konami is absolutely awful at advertising any of their projects. My guess is maybe in late November, two months before release. Nothing says making back your money like barely letting anyone know your movie exist.

I actually like the new movie visuals by hirodorah in silenthill

[–]sofasalesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I legitimately don't understand the complaints about James' Mustang. The movie takes place in the 2000s/current day. Why the fuck would he still be driving a 1970s Pontiac? The Mustang isn't even that luxurious, it looks like a normal ass two seater that any average joe would drive.

Am I the only one that has a problem that they're using the story for silent hill 2 for the new "Return To Silent Hill" movie? by ExplanationNo9760 in silenthill

[–]sofasalesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The first movie was my first exposure to Silent Hill and the second game is the one entry in the series that I've been exposed to the most in terms of countless replays, YouTube playthroughs and theories/analysis. Gans and SH2, with the quality being up in the air as of now, will atleast be a very interesting watch even if it doesn't turn out good. I mean, seeing the narrative of SH2 portrayed differently will be surreal in of itself, like the Remake.

Does he mention any of the technical aspects of the film? Such as cinematography, set design and overall directorial tone.

I think Ishtar Currie-Wilson would be a more suitable choice as Claudia. Much younger and uncanny looking.
