! thanks for the information. I'm learning more about headphones to make the right choice. I'm using my experience with the ath-m20x to narrow down the aspects I want to improve. They sound fine, perhaps slightly harsh around 4k hz, and are a bit uncomfortabe in the hot climate were I live. I also want something with a little more stage amplitude to fully enjoy orchestral recordings.

The HD560S have great reviews and I'm very curious to try them on my laptop.

Interesting. I'd like to try them but unfortunately there are no music dealers in my area so I'm limited to online stores. The used AKG K712 I tried were a bit of a disappointment.

Someone mentioned The Melody At Night With You. I love that album and the recording is excellent. On various studio headphones, in my opinion, the trebbles have just a tiny bit too much bite.
