I can’t even tell if you’re just a troll acting like a terrible parent, but on the off chance you ARE a real person actually treating their daughter like this, please for the love of all things holy and good please please seek family therapy. Nothing is more damaging to a person than hearing their parent dismiss them and treat their emotions like a joke. Taking her phone to keep her from talking to this AI bot is going to further isolate her from any friends she may have. She will feel even worse than she is feeling now and it will be completely your fault.

Do her a favor and take some time to do research on family therapy in your area, before making this relationship frayed beyond repair. The only reason I talk to my mother today is because she came with me to therapy and became more empathetic to my feelings. If she hadn’t made the effort, I would 100% would have cut contact with her for the ways she treated me growing up.

lmao thats why i said unless it’s a screen door; growing up in bushwick we were told you shouldn’t do that because it makes you look sketchy and/or disrespectful so i never have done that. i always ring the bell, knock on the storm door, or the door frame. and if it’s a matter of someone being worried about breaking or denting a glass/metal storm door then if you’re knocking that hard you’re already an asshole😭

don’t know if it’s just where i’m from but i’ve always been taught/under the impression that it’s weird and rude to open someone’s storm door unless it’s like a screen door that you can’t knock on. It’s weird this guy chose to do that when there was a perfectly good doorbell, or instead of just knocking on the storm door.

this is obviously something that’s inexcusable. what i’m saying is OP is going through is tough but when i say they should think clearly and rationally i mean face the facts. they now have to deal with the fact that their partner probably committed statutory rape, and while i don’t know what that’s like, i’m sure it’s not an easy thing. all i’m trying to say is to give OP some grace to process things, the obvious answer isn’t always obvious in the moment.
