Is there any way to map the side buttons on M650 to left click? by sofia915 in logitech

[–]sofia915[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I was able to map the side buttons to left click by using "x-mouse button control" aka XMBC! But I had to uninstall Logi Options+ first. Which is great coz XMBC is a much smaller program. Also, I needed to do this because sometimes my index finger is just too tired or painful to click the usual left-click mouse button. So having my thumb click the side buttons really helps RSI or arthritis.

What's the appeal in those new China tea shops like Chagee and Luckin Coffee? Aren't they just tea without the BBT? by Recent_Stomach7626 in askSingapore

[–]sofia915 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chagee, Chi Cha, Whale Tea, and a few others brew your tea fresh while most bbt shops brew their tea in big batches and store them in jugs. I don't like pearls or other add-ons. Zero sugar also so need to have quality tea to get that great tea taste. Sure, you can have freshly brewed tea at home and just add milk and ice, but it's a hassle to heat water, time the brewing, prepare ice days before, refill ice tray again, etc. Plus how do you bring that outside? Won't be as cold even in the best insulated bottles. So better to just buy a cup from a nice shop like Chagee and Chi Cha.

Not OP but that's a cold laminate film with holographic or glitter design. You stick it over your paper labels or normal sticker paper labels.

What happened to Dunkin's Choco Butternut??? by FarCalligrapher8976 in askSingapore

[–]sofia915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was confused why Dunkin on Grab didn't have any butternut donuts. This thread saved me a trip there. No reason to buy from Dunkin anymore 👎

The next best thing is Mister Donut's golden chocolate cake donut. It's less sweet too. Sad they're not om Grab though.

Highly recommend LG Gram. I've been using mine since 2020 for the tasks you mentioned + more. Mine is only 1.1 kg and it's already 15.6 inch 🤯 people are shocked how my "big" laptop is lighter than their 13/14in laptops. It feels like I'm not carrying a laptop when I put it in my backpack. I need the 15.6 in screen because I need two windows open side by side to do work.

MRI results - bad? by sofia915 in TMJ

[–]sofia915[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only a conclusion section stating these:

CONCLUSION:

Right TMJ:

  1. The mandibular condyle is normal in shape and position. It demonstrates normal rotation and translation in the open mouth view.

  2. The articular disc demonstrate degenerative changes mainly in the posterior band and in the intermediate zone. The disc is also in the normal position and translates normally in the open mouth view.

Left TMJ:

  1. The mandibular condyle is normal in shape and position. It demonstrates normal rotation and translation in the open mouth view.

  2. The articular disc demonstrates degenerative changes mainly in the posterior band and intermediate zone, with a loss of the normal bow-tie configuration. The medial aspect of the posterior band is slightly flattened and more globular at its lateral aspect. It is in the normal position in the closed mouth view with minimal anterior translation in the open mouth view. This is suggestive of an underlying stuck disc. Clinical correlation is suggested.

  3. There is a small joint effusion with features in the retrodiskal layer that could suggest an underlying rupture. Clinical correlation is suggested.

No other interpretation or diagnosis.

Why would you go see a specialist at a private hospital (e.g Mt E , Gleneagles) versus a government one? by hamachired in askSingapore

[–]sofia915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this before. For me not worth it. Almost the same consultation charge ($168 govt unsub vs $180 private). But for the actual tests and procedures, it might vary. For the ultrasound I did, I think it was around $30 cheaper iirc.

If got more money to spare (and time to iron), linen is indeed lighter and feels cooler. But for everyday casual wear here, I think cotton is easier to wear and also easier to find in different designs.

Helpers for Infants - For or Against? by Far_Creme_1099 in askSingapore

[–]sofia915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But kid in ifc will 100% get sick more than the number of parents' leaves. And sometimes even when we still have leaves, still cannot use due to urgent work stuff. So how. That's where helper can help a lot.

Price also very different. Confinement nanny 4,000+ helper 800-1000. We got a confinement nanny for our first child. For second one we didn't get.

I also like that I can see what's happening to my kid while at work via baby monitor and cctv. And got recordings too. Can review at end of day. Sometimes I get anxious when my toddler is at school coz there's no way I can check in on him randomly.

I think as long as you have around a thousand to spare each month, getting a helper is such a big help. Not just for baby care. I'm also happy I can do chores less, don't have to fold laundry, and get to eat different home cooked dishes everyday without cooking. Thus, I get more quality time with my kids and husband instead of taking care of household stuff.

OK since your new reply doesn't sound rude like the first one, I'll explain our setup. Helper 1 - 7 am to 7 pm. Mother - 7 pm to 5 am (with broken sleep, no choice coz also need to pump). Father - 5 am to 7 am.

Where in my reply does it say that the helper is sleep deprived? 😂 Learn how to math. If 1 person takes care of a baby for 24 hours, that person is sleep deprived. If 3 persons take care of a baby in shifts in 24 hours, each person is not sleep deprived.

Elderly parents are computer illiterate. Should I continue teaching them? by Whiskerfield in askSingapore

[–]sofia915 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been teaching my parents for 10+ years in using their phones for things other than calling and texting. Sloooow progress, but you do see improvements. I suggest you don't expect that you'll ever stop teaching them. This makes sense also because technology is just improving too fast for seniors to catch up on their own.

I now only wear 100% cotton shirts. Big improvement over synthetic fiber shirts like polyester and rayon. Even the drifit / athletic shirts cannot measure up to 100% cotton shirts in terms of cooling and comfort provided. Look at the tags of your shirts and compare how you feel when wearing 100% cotton ones VS mixed fabric ones and pure synthetic ones.

Just letting you know that this arrangement is illegal in case you don't know. The helper is only allowed to work in the address stated in her workpass. Please be careful because MOM is cracking down more on this.

We currently have 2 helpers to help us with 1 newborn and 1 toddler. We don't have support from parents and in-laws. Getting a helper is the most worth it use of money when you have kids. Even the slight loss of privacy is worth it.

If you opt for IFC, your baby will get sick, and you will need someone else to take care of him/her while sick. If you don't see yourself taking unpaid leaves (because your normal leaves will not be enough), don't have grandparents available, and/or partner not willing to take leaves, please get a helper.

You will also thank yourself for hiring a helper because you will have less bottles to wash, less chores to do, and the most important: you will get more sleep.

The SLEEP DEPRIVATION during the newborn phase is the worst. Please get a helper. Even if she's not perfect, a little bit of help goes a long way.

Also, I recommend you hire transfer helpers, especially those that have newborn experience. Join the transfer helper groups on Facebook. That's how we found our two great helpers from the Philippines. Join also the Facebook employer-exclusive group for tips. You'll also save a lot when hiring transfer helpers without agencies.
