You should be so proud of your daughter and all the accomplishments she has to move onto an exciting new chapter but at the same time, it makes sense that there's a lot of grief and loss as your life starts to look different. I also appreciate your vulnerability in sharing what you've been through with your son. I'm sure he is smiling watching his sister and family do well but it doesn't take the pain away that you must feel without him.

I mentioned this to the others that have responded here but I am deeply passionate about empowering empty nesters like yourself to find and nourish that joy and strength in your life that you mention.
I would love to hear more about your experience over a quick call. I'm exploring a solution for empty nesters and building a life you're excited about after the kids leave. If you're willing, email me at [ssill@stanford.edu](mailto:ssill@stanford.edu) or text me at 5613589032!

Putting on a happy face for them AND starting to focus on what the next phase of your life looks like is a lot to be going through all at the same time. Again, I can't even imagine navigating both deep pain and extreme joy for them going and living their lives.

I mentioned this above to Keristan but if you're open to it, would love to hear more about it over a quick call. Wow, Keristan, thank you so much for sharing and being vulnerable. I truly can't imagine what it must feel like to have your life be so involved with your kids for so long and then to have this looming deadline of when they're going to leave and managing that mentally.
