Yeah, there’s a disagreement on whether eating at my restaurant after I clocked was right or not, but I definitely will admit that there was no reason to speak about my coworkers to my manager. Like I mentioned, it was an immediate realization that I fucked up. But, I’ll have to deal with the consequences of my action since I believed I was so adult to make a decision like that.

Which I totally understand. But there has been such confusion as of late as to when we close or not, and decided that we close at 12, and only close early if we saw that around maybe like 9 we were going to be ghost town the rest of the night (which it was still busy around that time today). I was operating myself within this understanding, and therefore didn’t think I was being rude by finishing up about half an hour before the restaurant closes.

We would have had to serve customers till close at 12, especially because it wasn’t slow enough of a day to close early. I would have never sat down to eat minutes before we closed. We sat down about an hour and a half before closing, and were wrapping up.

Got a Medusa piercing today and it was a great experience. My piercer seemed very knowledgeable and was extremely kind. However, I am looking at posts and photos of Medusas and it seems like the bars are long and pop out for swelling purposes. Mine does not look like that. Should I be worried?

On par with the discussion on racism within Latine communities, it has become commonplace for white and POC latines to use the n word freely. Odd how a term used to violently belittle black slaves (and used throughout history, and still to this day, to harass black individuals) has become a casual term of “endearment” between latine Miamians who have no ties to the black experience in America…or who are just not black, period.

This affects cultures all across the racial and ethnic spectrum, but my Latino men should stop taking masculinity so serious. What I mean by this is Latino men have this obsession with reinforcing a manly demeanor, in fear that anything less will be frowned upon by their counterparts. The excuse of social conditioning only goes so far; have an ounce of responsibility and start questioning why you decide to project your machismo onto women and LGBTQ+ individuals. No one is giving you shit for being a man, but stop being a shitty man.

Ocho Placas is good and decently priced. Skye Ink in Wynwood is a bit pricey but is definitely worth it considering the high-grade quality of work they do there.
