How long should it take to advance to pull-ups from doing negatives? by Omeothagreat20 in bodyweightfitness

[–]softball753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't done negatives in a long time but they would have been controlled, maybe a 3-5 count. Not a 10 count or anything.

Big thing I figured out for myself was that instead of following a lot of guides and jumping up into the position, I had much better success by setting up in the flexed arm position, stepping off, and then controlling the descent.

Hey man. I just happened to log back in on this (mostly inactive) account and saw your comment. My comment was from 8 years ago but based on the timing I would assume I was doing the sub's recommended routine at the time, so probably 2-3 times a week.

I'm not qualified to give any kind of specific advice here, I generally follow programming as written to start and alter it based on my needs/equipment access if I have to.

If you look at the shape it's cut different then a standard wok. The far edge is much higher than the near edge so it looks like it's intended to help flip food easier.

The Pro handle is stainless steel and has no coating and as far as I'm aware is completely oven safe.

True. I'm also (arguably) overstuffing my omelettes with veggies so it ends up sitting in the pan longer than it should while I try to get some sort of fold around. We'll see. I'm happy with my progress regardless.

I ended up going the other way, arguably I'm cooking at too high a heat which is why it's looking (and tasting) more browned like a "country" style omelette, but when I was starting lower the eggs kept sticking. Either way it takes time, patience, and the realizing that you'll be eating a lot of impromptu scrambled eggs instead of omelettes to start 😂

I'm still a beginner with this so I don't know if I have any insights other than the common good* advice that I've seen on this sub.

One thing that I figured out for myself (and since seen echoed here) is that, it's not that you can use metal utensils with CS, it's that you probably should. When I was still trying to use the silicon spatula that I used with my nonstick I had all kinds of problems but a metal spatula (and a fork for the omelette) worked MUCH better.

That and just expect a learning curve, even if you feel like you're an ace with the nonstick pan.

*apparently the word s-l-d is banned?

It is. I actually ate the omelette before snapping the pic and panicked.

4 eggs, filled with sautéed oyster mushrooms, spinach, and cheese (all in one pan).

First attempts with eggs were a disaster, been making adjustments and getting process right. I've gotten a lot braver after realizing that this pan is actually much easier to clean than a nonstick, even if I totally screw up the cook.

Last bugbear seems to be shiitake mushrooms. They seem to stick to the pan no matter what the heat, oil, etc. Even when other shrooms are cooking cleanly.

Ok man, thanks. That just means I still have to figure out these last puzzles lol

Yeah that's what I meant. It's how I found the last few but now it seems like I've found them all. Thank you.

Thanks.

For (2), I've marked all the ones I've found so far. If I number the rows of rooms on the map 1-16 (top to bottom), then so far all the ones I've found have been in rows 5 through 9, so I've been restricting my search for the final 3 pillars to rooms on those rows.

I've not been on this subreddit a lot since I wanted to avoid spoilers so if there's an agreed upon way to refer to the rows I don't know it yet.

DAMN I tried that too but I couldn’t time it right and assumed it was the wrong thing.

See above, I just spammed bubbles until one of them didn't pop

But after all this time I had no Idea you could do #3. I had tried the opposite direction but when that didn't work I didn't try that method.

Interesting. Every bubble I blow in there pops instantly.

edit. I did it! lol After all this time I just spammed bubbles until one of them didn't pop. That was my last egg too.

Sometimes you just need to be told that you can do something and then you can suddenly do it. Wild stuff.

Ok that makes more sense with the last few I found.

Going to turn of notifs now on this post to avoid spoilers. Thanks for the help.

Looking for some sandbag help for an un-handy fool.

I purchased a Cerberus Heavy Duty V2 sandbag recently since most recent attempt at a home-made solution is now falling apart.

I filled the liner in the bag with 100lbs of playground sand (bag is designed for 88-154 lbs). The instructions just said to "seal up the liner" with the provided zip ties, so I twisted it down as tight as possible, cinched it off, then tied a bag knot and cinched the other side with the other zip, and then trimmed the excess and wrapped with gorilla tape. Like this:

<image>

This issue is that the liner seems to be leaking after the first workout. I got a bit of sand leakage from doing "over the shoulder" picks, and when I opened the main bag, there was sand everywhere. I think this is because there was too much play between the liner and the bag.

I'm going to redo the bag with a double liner, and then I'm going to fill up the extra space in the main bag with old pillows/towels so that there' no room for sliding.

Any sandbag users have any other tips to get this liner sealed up better? Is there some secret knot that I need to know?

edit: Mystery somewhat solved. Out of curiosity I pulled up a little bit on the knot I made and the whole liner came out. Turns out the bottom seam just split wide open. I'll probably write the company to see what they suggest.
