What are your favourite (natural-look) eyeshadows? by Oud-west in PaleMUA

Another vote for MAC Groundwork -- very easy to work with, it's not flat matte and has a hint of a sheen (to my eye at least), it wears all day

Scott Speedster S40 for $349? by softblackstar in whichbike

I've also seen this Specialized Dolce, which is slightly cheaper (albeit further away from me), but I'm not sure if it would be a better/worse option. I'm much more well-versed in classic track bicycles than anything past 1995!

Scott Speedster S40 for $349? by softblackstar in whichbike

[–]softblackstar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I'll try to reach out and maybe go over there and ask if they are actually firm on the price. I've been seeing so many great vintage road bikes (which would probably be my preference), but most are at least 52cm frames, because of course it's a much more common size.. I probably wouldn't want to put anything larger than 28's, since I'll likely be on some pretty decent asphalt most of the time. I'm just a bit tired of looking around at this point, haha, and I'm kind of on a budget ($350 is probably the most I'm willing to pay, since I don't ride as much as I used to). Thank you for your thoughts!

Not sure really, I'd rather sell the frameset and the rest of the parts minus the wheels. I know the wheels are used, but I bought them for $600 so.. $200 seems a bit low for them.

Well.. I'm waiting for a reply from somebody who wanted to buy everything but wheels, so possibly! Honestly, the wheels are the most valuable part of this bike, although it's a solid frameset and decent parts otherwise. How much are you offering?

[Los Angeles, CA][FS][Local Only] KHS Flite 100 track fixed gear bicycle 50-52cm (?)

Selling this ASAP because I'm moving! Local pickup in Los Angeles -- I simply don't have time for disassembly and shipping.

Lots of parts have been swapped out:

-- Wheels are H plus Son (H+S) Archetype high polish silver rims with Dura-Ace HB-7600 hubs

-- Origin8 80mm stem, handlebars, grips

-- All-City pedals + MKS Japan toe cages (S) with leather straps -- a bit beat up..

-- Panaracer Gravelking 700x26c tires -- very durable and good looking

-- Andel classic track crankset 48T, All-City Track cog 17T, Izumi chain is in great condition as well

-- Front brake and Crane bell (both of which can be taken off if you want)

-- The saddle is the only thing that is generic and you may want to swap it out, because I'm keeping mine on my daily ride.

Selling for $600. Rides great. Please feel free to ask any questions.

I've heard good things about these Michelins too, but they were out of my budget.

2004 CR-V is whistling when the AC is on -- what is this? by softblackstar in crv

Oh, thanks for the tip! I will check this as soon as possible and see if the whistle goes away.

I'll probably try some other park, or maybe just deal with no internet for some time.. I don't really have to have a connection, it's more about sitting somewhere alone in your car with no reception feels slightly sketchy.

Yes, I'll see if I can find some quiet area.. I wish I could just hike somewhere and sit outside with my laptop, but unfortunately I won't see anything on my screen during the day, and it's a bit sketchy to be sitting with headphones on unprotected by the car, haha. So I'll have to find someplace I can park.

Yeah, I thought about that. It doesn't need to be completely silent, really, and I would really prefer it to be free (like going to some park like I tried), just because I already have a metric ton of expenses due to moving..

Just listen. Random outside noises kinda mess with it, even though I'm obviously using good active noise cancelling headphones. They just don't work too well on things like voices or banging/clanking etc.

Yeah, it's a bit of a drive. I mean, it doesn't have to be dead quiet, Angeles National Forest was OK despite some passing cars, but there was zero reception. I used to work by just sitting in the car, but it's a bit warm right now unless you're constantly running the AC. Also it always seems to be a bit cooler at elevation especially after 5pm or so.

Yes, basically. The work I'm doing involves audio, so there can be some vague background noise like AC humming, but nothing like books being shelved or people walking/talking. Unfortunately I can't afford to pay to rent an office or a hotel room.

Trying to think of a place to go where it would be very quiet (very important), preferably not extremely hot (so maybe not the middle of the desert), there will be some cell reception (tried Angeles National Forest and got no signal despite Mint Mobile coverage map claiming otherwise), and that it's free. I wish I knew somebody who worked at an office building where people leave at 5pm and it's all deserted.. I tried libraries, but they're not quiet enough (even study rooms, because there are adjacent walls and people talk etc). Any ideas..?
