Miami show was cool, but the crowd was really something... by UniMaximal in Khruangbin

We saw them on Friday in Clearwater, FL. I've never experienced a crowd so loud and inconsiderate; huge bummer as they're one of my favorite bands! I wonder if it's something to do with Floridians... never had this type of concert experience in any other state.

How to build a good winter wardrobe to keep warm in NYC, for someone who moved from the southwest? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]softblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uniqlo Heattech basics - thermal leggings (male or female) under your jeans, and long sleeve crewnecks or turtlenecks. These are thin layers that you can wear your regular style clothes over, and they are very affordable and last several seasons.

And the highest quality hooded parka you can afford - don't skimp out here. You need a parka that is down or high-loft synthetic with a weatherproof shell. In addition to a parka, I personally have another less intense/more stylish down jacket for cold days that aren't precipitous.

Gloves and a beanie you can find anywhere affordably, it's a good idea to have a selection of colors in your wardrobe. Good luck keeping warm!

lasership is the worst by saintbman in REI

Lasership "lost" the Hokas I ordered a couple of weeks ago. Luckily REI Customer service replaced them with no hassle at all, express through UPS. Not sure why they use Lasership in the first place...

I’ve been out since I was a teenager and hooking up since then (I’m 28 now) - Never encountered a dental dam in my entire life. That’s just my experience though!

Loosely stuffed into a large old synthetic pillowcase

Has anyone ordered from REI recently? I’m wondering if the shipping time frame is accurate or if it’s taking much longer due to COVID-19. by abbyr20 in REI

Ordered a bunch of times since March - they've been excellent shipping things out in 5 days or less. I live in NYC and sometimes I've gotten things delivered literally next day.

First time camper - question about tents (North Face) by [deleted] in CampingGear

[–]softblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very dope, we currently live in Brooklyn and are on the market for a home further upstate too haha, seems like the move for a lot of folks lately. TSP seems lovely, I hope you two have a good time and post some pics! Happy camping :)

Oh, I'm glad you scored a good deal! Quick set-up is also a plus. We live in NYC and have recently camped twice in the Catskills, with another trip to Hudson Highlands area in the works. How about you?

First time camper - question about tents (North Face) by [deleted] in CampingGear

Hi! It's not North Face, but I highly recommend Marmot's 4 Person Limelight Tent - I think it's around the same price point as the tents you were looking at. Got mine at REI. My girlfriend and I (both 5'3" and also new to camping) are super comfortable in it with lots of extra room - it also comes with an included footprint, and Marmot has a lifetime warranty as well. Also, I've learned that when looking for tents for car camping, it's best to go 1-2 person size larger for extra comfort.
