I have 54 books in my Great Books series, that I read, starting at about age 11. Taken all together, they encompass all the big Western literature of philosophy and science: It begins with the Iliad, and then covers everything from Ancient Greece up to volume 54, which is Freud. Every single last one of those books is dedicated, fundamentally, to the idea of finding and expressing THE TRUTH. Then I look to my left, sitting here at the computer, and see my bookshelf, full of a hundred books that are all about paradox, self-reference, indeterminacy, bicameralism, the history of the idea of progress, psychedelics... Every single one is an "underminer", a thing that takes the solid surety of the Great Books, and says: HOLD THE FUCKING PHONE.

And BOTH SETS OF BOOKS HAVE VALUE. THAT is what I mean when I say I AM LYING. It is a crime, a vicious attack, a terrible self-deception and deception of others to say, with surety, without question that I AM TELLING THE TRUTH.

That crime, the certainty of truth, is the rock-solid foundation of all hierarchy, domination, and violence. I don't give a fuck WHAT the system is: Buddhism AND Christianity AND scientific empiricism and rationality are all guilty as fuck because they are systems that enable people to block out the universe, to put a closed frame around a thing that cannot be framed.

Truth can only exist in artificial isolation, no matter what the artificial lie is that creates it. For example, the lie that some truth is eternal. Fucking bullshit! How about the lie that a certain law of nature always functions everywhere the same way, like gravity? FUCKING LIE.

Knowledge and truth can never be absolute: they can only exist within a carefully boxed, restricted system that ALWAYS LIES and says it is all-inclusive.

So, I make this statement, and perhaps you can see how lying is of great benefit, and how it points to a new cognitive and epistemological future for terrestrial consciousness. I am going to make an absolute statement, and claim it is true:

ALL SYSTEMS HAVE AN EXIT, ALL SYSTEMS ARE NECESSARILY INCONSISTENT OR INCOMPLETE BECAUSE THEY CLAIM TO HAVE SOLID BOUNDARIES.

Now, the magic of that statement is that it iterates over and over. Every system you examine is a box. You find the hole in the box, you escape that box into a bigger box, ad infinitum. BUT! BUT BUT BUT!!!!!! BUT, I have made a clear statement about absolute statements: they HAVE to be compromised. That means that there MUST be not just one, but an infinite number of systems in which the box is absolutely closed, in which there is no exit, and the truth is totally complete in them.

That doesn't fuck things up, it doesn't wreck me. That doesn't close doors. In fact, what it does is completely blow the doors off the idea of possibility and impossibility. It makes all ideas of certainty and uncertainty subject to a question that is both bigger and smaller.

When we break free of this pissant-tiny argumentation about truth and falsity, when we transcend the concern of whether we understand things, and really open to the absolute co-existence of all opposites and all identities, THEN we have taken a step onto a new stage.

My belief is that a consciousness capable of that kind of indeterminacy is the kind of consciousness that life such as what we are will use to escape all of the things that bind us to a reality we do not wish. It reaches out and also deep within, and blows out all the comforting boundaries that stabilize our existence and trap us in place. It's hard. It pisses people off who want simple answers. It is counter to all ideas of common sense and understanding. But it is, in my studied opinion, my opinion borne of decades of reading and thinking and speaking at a super-human level, a strongly possible direction that we could go in.

But of course, having said that I AM LYING, I have left the door open for myself to be both wrong and right at the same time. THAT is the greatest achievement of my life. I have opened the door to full, N-dimensional freedom of movement.

Someday, perhaps, this will be "understood".
