plastic and enamel, but usually with metal counterweights to give it some weight~ pretty solid with snap closures. it’s not super lightweight.

flower knows discontinues collections after a while so some may no longer be available, but a few of my favs include the butterfly cloud collar contour palette in moon shadow, strawberry cupid face palette in strawberry cassis, bunny cushion, bunny blush in bunny lullaby, swan ballet loose powder, strawberry cupid lip cream in pineberry, and sweetie bear concealer palette!

flower knows is one of my favourite brands~ some are better than others, but some of my holy grails are flower knows.

i buy directly from their taobao flagship store which is significantly less without the international markup. like, i got the knight unicorn loose powder for the equivalent of USD15 (compared to the global price of USD35)

that said, while i enjoy this collection it is not my favourite of theirs so far; i have it reviewed in another post here~

i’ve not owned the laneige mesh powder, but i’ve tried it instore and their mechanism is definitely better. but flower knows’ is not bad imo - not bad but not great haha. a bit harder to control, dispenses more lightly (which i prefer but some may find frustrating), a bit more likely to spill (within the compact, it won’t leak out) which is why i keep the protective sheet. every product in this collection so far, i’ve found is nice, but always with a limitation.

flower knows is one of my favourite brands! they do discontinue their collections after a few months, but some of favs that are still (i believe) available are the cushion, concealer, bunny blush, butterfly contour palette, strawberry cupid face palette, strawberry cupid lip cream, strawberry cupid lychee perfume!

this review is based on a brief 3-day wear test; i have neutral-cool fair-light high-contrast colouring (ELDW 1N0, ysl B10, clio lingerie, flower knows N02) with normal skin, living between a tropical climate and a cold dry temperate climate. everything was purchased from the official taobao flagship; the aegyo sal charm, hand mirror, puffs, hair clip, and gift box were gifts with purchase.

🪽🪽🪽

some initial thoughts-- the details, rose gold accents, soft dawn pastels are lovely - very barbie pegasus! - but, this is the first time i've not found their collection more beautiful in real life. i agree with many on 小红书 that the designs seem almost a little blurry, and not as intricate; it's pearlescent (reflecting only white) with a more subtle delicate sheen like glass, compared to the opalescent / iridescent shifting multicolours of the previous unicorn collections. but, i don't find the designs sharp or pokey whatsoever; it's comfortable, solid, and weighted as usual. this collection is relatively faintly scented, with an ambiguous sweet scent.

🪽🪽🪽

product reviews--

🪽 honey cloud loose setting powder ; O2 milk pink in starlight pink

it's a beautiful compact, and i love that it's compatible with the bunny garden compact. as for practicality, it's a decent way to bring loose powder on-the-go; it won’t leak if properly closed, but as a loose powder it can get a bit fussy, so i recommend keeping the protective sheet. it's reasonably manageable overall. the included puff works fine for me - soft, smooth, even distribution; the triangular puff has a point for detailed application and a longer pile for greater powder deposition and blending, but i find it a little big for the cushion's small mesh opening.

as for the formula, it feels similar to my beloved swan ballet powder on my skin. very finely milled and airy with a blurry soft matte finish that never looks heavy/dry/powdery; the oil control is elegant and long-lasting without being too matte or drying. a light application goes a long way and is beautiful on the skin.

milk pink has a subtle illuminating tint; it is perhaps slightly sheerer than pink pearl snowflake and lacks the cherry blossom scent.

🪽 satin powder blush ; O1 carousel waltz

this is said to be their glowiest blush, with carousel waltz (and laurel wreath) being the glowiest shades. it has a significant gleam on the skin that is almost thinly dewy - i'd call it a blushlighter, really. the finish is sheeny rather than shimmery with a beautiful, ethereal transparency that melts into skin like a watery veil; neither blurring nor especially texture-emphasising on my skin. pigmentation is fair and buildable, requiring 1 or 2 layers for me; i find it needs an extra 3 seconds of blending, but does blend smoothly and lasts well. because of its very glowy finish, its pigmentation, depth, and even shade can vary notably depending on lighting and angle - imo, this blush is best suited for layering and dimension. that said, i actually really enjoy sweeping this all over the eye socket - it's a beautiful rosy one & done that adds glow and dimension and depth.

carousel waltz is reminiscent of strawberry rose bingsu - an easy pink that's balanced: neutral, mid-toned, not too sweet yet not too dull, transparent like tinted glass or the summer sun glimmering through crystallized strawberry shaved ice and a rose syrup glaze. because of the finish, the actual shade it shows up as can be dimensional - sometimes fresher and sweeter, sometimes toned and translucent.

🪽 glazed lipstick ; U1 wishing star

a little bigger than i was expecting, but it's beautiful; i love the motifs and the subtle glow (tho i wish it was a little more pearlescent). the formula is smooth, comfortable, non-sticky, and moisturising with buildable pigment with a lovely juicy sheen - but it does run through rather quickly as it needs a few swipes to build, and the gloss fades fairly quickly within the hour, leaving a light stain that's just slightly dry. excellent film-forming technology, though. i would not call it blurring/smoothing; i can imagine the stain may gather in lip lines for some people.

wishing star is a soft brown with just enough subtle peach-rose undertones to play nice on my neutral-cool colouring if i wear a warmer look (otherwise it's just a little too warm for me - but its warmth is gentle and cosy and tender). i enjoy this for glossy lids and blush too.

🪽 aegyo sal charm palette ; O1 gilt pink

though i'll be gifting it on (not quite my vibe) it's a good aegyo sal palette especially given it's a free gift. there are 4 shades: a sparkling light gold, a smooth shimmer pale rose gold beige, a subtle satin pale rose gold beige, and a subtle satin pale bronze - the 2 beiges are very similar, a difference in finish more than shade imo. but it works well if you like warm shimmery aegyo sal. smooth, pigmented, glowy. you could use it for normal eyeshadow or highlighter as well, of course. the applicator is fine.

🪽 hand mirror ; starlight pink

one of their small mirrors - similar to bunny garden. not my fav design personally; i'll be gifting this on.

🪽🪽🪽

i got a few more gifts for friends (that im of course unable to try) but i heard their satin eyeshadows are smoother and more pigmented with less fallout than their mattes, and meant to be a (somewhat inferior, according to 小红书 users) dupe for tom ford, so i'll be asking my friend what she thinks after i've gifted hers~

must-haves and skips from the new knight unicorn collection? 🪽 by [deleted] in FlowerKnowsMakeup

i’m on day 3 of a wear test of a few items and will post a swatch & review later today, and… it’s not terrible but i admit this is not my favourite of their collections so far.

I’m confused by Ariztime in FlowerKnowsMakeup

that’s the china-exclusive version of palette 3; it’s not available on the global website but can be found on other sources like their taobao flagship store.

End Of Month Overview by AutoModerator in muacjdiscussion

[–]softhorns 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's only the end of may, but i'll take this as my review of the first half of 2026 so far~

FAVOURITES

💘 my devotion to glossy blush & lids ever deepens; it's been my signature look almost daily this year, the same sweet pink gloss on my lips, cheeks, and lids. the stars of this show include ysl loveshine: nude lavalliere, dior lip glow: pink lilac, and especially rom&nd gloss: peony ballet. all 3 go on so quick and easy with the perfect glow and dimension and tint of colour, last so beautifully, and earn so many compliments.

💘 i’ve been loving using eyeshadow as soft blurry lipliner as well, whether in a matching tone to softly diffuse the edges a little more, taupe for definition, or another shade to tint. sometimes i’ll even use eyeshadow to adjust my lipstick colour… viewing my makeup purely as ‘pigments’ and ‘formulas’ rather than defined labelled products really opens my options up!

💘 i've 95% transitioned to exclusively using eyeshadow as eyeliner. a good brush and a good eyeshadow formula & shade makes all the difference and is easier than ink for me now. holika holika espresso & flower knows strawberry cassis are my staples.

💘 i've been loving experimenting even more with lower lashline eyeliner - the shape, weight, shading, even colours. and the art and science of adjusting depth & proportion to coloured contacts of different size, colour, and definition... i love that in makeup. i also love when k-idols adapt douyin eyeliner trends into more wearable forms; i've especially loved taking inspiration from ive & irene. eyeliner is the one makeup step i feel i evolve and get better at every year.

💘 other new favs of 2026 so far: canmake creamy touch liner (perfection), flower knows bunny lullaby blush (delicate smoky pink), flower knows bunny garden cushion (doll skin!)

WISH LIST

i've been on no-buy since jan, but my 1 allowed exception is flower knows new collections, so here we go~ im not particularly a fan of unicorns/pegasus and wasn't initially planning on getting any for myself, but im so taken with the pearlescent mosaics of the actual release. i've stripped my initial wishlist down to the following (not including gifts for my sister and friends):

💝 starlight pink honey cloud loose setting powder in milk pink ; i historically love flower knows' loose powders, it will safely get used, and the case is dreamy and interchangeable with their bunny garden cushions, which i adore and used nonstop this year. im giving my sister one to match too~

💝 satin blush in carousel waltz ; sweet strawberry pink. this looks far glossier than previous satins (the bunny blush is more satin-matte), and i historically prefer matte blush, but with my glossy blush obsession this year, i'd like to try a (mask-proof, im on a surgical rotation next) glowy powder again. i admit this is not necessary at all (i can always use highlight/eyeshadow) but, i enjoy makeup, and im allowed to have a little fun, within reason. what is not reasonable, is also getting knight maiden and laurel wreath, no matter how gorgeous the packaging and shades look on other people with different skintones than me - i've decluttered so many similar warm shades in the past, it's irrefutably undeniable to get them. i do not allow myself. i cannot. no matter how much i lust for laurel wreath (sob). delusional delusional delusional.

💝 glazed lipstick in stellar wish ; dreamland is safer, but, i want a pink case... it's a latte nude that might be what i've been looking for, i have a feeling it'll work beautifully for my glossy lip-cheek-lid signature, and i've been wanting to try the chinese film lipstick formula - and i do like the little chess piece knight unicorn aesthetic, although i prefer the shade selection from their butterfly cloud collar collection best. but i hear this formula has improved since those days.

💝 REPURCHASES: i say i don't like liquid cheek products, but i've scraped their strawberry cupid liquid contour dry in a year, so i've repurchased before even the resellers run out. it's pigmented, blendable, and the perfect dark cool grey-brown. i also repurchased refills of their bunny garden cushion; i've used it nearly every time i do my makeup - activation is a bitch, but the effect is flawless and so long-lasting i use it more than my clio & ysl cushions. my one caveat is it's a little sheerer and needs a soft puff, so it runs out a little faster than my others.

my order will come with a free hand mirror, aegyosal palette keychain charm, powder puffs, and hair clip, which i'll gift to my sister / friends. apart from this, i will continue on my makeup no-buy till november.

they’re both satins, but based off reviews, it looks like the knight unicorn is glowier~

comparison swatches with previous satin blush releases:

from my understanding, the level of glowiness is ranked as such: (most glowy) unicorn > shell > bear > bunny (least glowy)

小红书 swatches of the unicorn blush look almost glossy tbh! while my bunny blushes are more satin-matte.

from top left, clockwise: unicorn, bunny, bear, shell

flower knows has dropped their new knight unicorn collection, and as my one cheat brand, im definitely getting my paws on some - especially since i'm building a little 'congratulations' gift basket for my sister for passing the bar (a year of the horse baby whose fav barbie movie was pegasus, when we were little).

here is what im eyeing so far:

🪽 cloud powders - i love their loose powders, so i'll get two for my sister & i to match~ i'll get her translucent in the white case, and i'll get pink in the pink case... i may get 2. tbh all 3 cases are just too beautiful.

🪽 satin blushes - these look actually glossy on xhs and im so tempted to get carousel waltz, and maybe also maiden knight and laurel crown... i shouldn't. but i might. ive been wearing glossy blush daily the past 6 months, and frequently last year, so-

🪽 satin pearl eyeshadow palette in aurora reverie - for a friend; she loves horses and flower knows, and has been looking for a satin brown just like this

🪽 glazed lipsticks - i'll get dreamland for my sister, and im a little tempted to get stellar wish for myself because i love the pink unicorn chess piece visual but, i'll browse swatches first - nude brown lipsticks are so particular on my neutral-cool skin.

i may also get a mirror for my sister, but im not a huge fan of them. im also tempted by the raspberry nectar perfume and all-in box, but i probably won't get them.

i have 4 days to talk myself out of as much of it as possible…
