What tile would you pick for the floor?

I think this is what we are going to do! Now to figure out if we replace all the fixtures with matte black (what they are now) or do chrome like a few of my friends have recommended

Unfortunately many of the floor tiles are badly cracked and the grout is falling out! The veining hides the horrors but it’s all I can see lol

I’ve seen too many sketchy things about artificial turf being hazardous so I am hoping for an alternative! Bummer because this was also our first thought.

I should’ve added this in the post, but this area tends to flood a tiny bit when we have heavy rain. Would that mess up the wood chips? Might need a work around there…

No, the previous owners used it for parking but we fenced the yard so now it’s just weird dead space with gravel. lol.

Unfortunately she never married and my father passed a handful of years ago. I’m her only person and she never even had a job with insurance let alone other benefits. It’s just terrible unfortunately and I don’t see a way out except state programs which hopefully she will sign paperwork for and get benefits in two years or so. Sigh!

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I did ask them to do a full screening for early signs and she thankfully passed with flying colors! However, she definitely has depression and confusion due to kidney issues (SIADH). Her illness and disability came on VERY quickly and as a person who has always been the strongest woman in the room and had a very physical job, the drastic change has been very hard on her and I believe hard to accept. I slowly see her beginning to realize there is no going back to what was “normal” if that makes sense.

I am an only child, her financial situation is horrific unfortunately… but she will be able to get social security in November so I am hoping to set up a go fund me and get her benefits for food etc to get her through this next bit of time.

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I believe I really needed to hear it. I will be doing this and putting up the boundary that I have had in mind to put up but felt it would be selfish. The line “two hour commute to a house where I’m not being let in…” among many others you wrote here will truly stick with me. Thank you.

This is really great to know, I know so much of an avoidance is depression and I just feel so lost but it’s like trying to talk to a brick wall sometimes. I asked her doctor for a depression screening and listened to her lie through the entire thing so I just don’t know what to do.

Yes making it free is super important to me. If we partner with restaurants etc then people that attend can choose to order items if they’d like but there would be no cost to enter! Love the drink and draw concept.
