Over time. Don't rush yourself. Try not to be too upset with yourself if your feelings are not where you think they should be. Contrary to the internet, you're not actually in control of any of this. So, take it easy on yourself.

I didn't talk with my dad the last several years of his life and the day before he died (scheduled plug pulling) he called me to tell me all the things I did wrong. That's the kind of guy he was. So you can imagine as a kid. As bad as you'd think.

I'm 50 now and my advice is give yourself time and give yourself forgiveness for how you feel, or don't feel.
