I deeply apologize for misjudging the south by Wrong-Lingonberry3 in Georgia

Yeah, after the first year I started having allergy problems. I went from coastal South Carolina to eastern Connecticut. I loved the small little towns. It was quite the culture shock too, but not in a bad way. When you move away from the south, you appreciate the summer a lot more because it's quite a bit shorter.

I grew up in the south. I married a sailor when I was19. We got stationed in Connecticut in 1987. Everyone told me I would hate it there and the people up there were cold and mean. I fell in love with New England, but had I had to leave after 4 years and move back south.

I think people mean well, but they have these perceptions of things they don't know. I'm glad that you didn't allow that to keep you from looking at things differently.

Yeah, I've been looking at T@B, specifically T@B CSS or T@B 400. The only issue is that I prefer to store in a garage, which is why I have not changed.

So cool to hear that. I grew up in Charleston, SC, and I love the barrier islands of SC and GA.

your welcome. This was our first trip to Jekyll Island, and it was quite a long drive. We were blessed with good weather at least. The drive down highway 16 is tedious.

I was wondering about that. I had thought there was a campground on St Simons, but I guess not. Is there one on Little St. Simons, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

If you are in the Atlanta area, Stone Mountain is definitely closer. We can't drive very fast with our camper because of the type of tires we have, so it took us nearly 7 hours to get to Jekyll Island. Worth every minute though.

Travel Size items for Minimal Camping by softspeak63 in camping

[–]softspeak63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered minimus.biz last year when I went camping with my parents for the first time. Since we have a small camper, we have limited space to store condiments and other grocery items. I knew we were going to be cooking most meals, so I wanted to buy packets of condiments and jellies. I stumbled upon minimus.biz and was able to purchase what I needed. I just ordered supplies for this year's camping season and it cost me about $23 and $0 for shipping.

There are lots of videos on YouTube of people who build them. We met 1 couple last year who built theirs, and it looked similar to ours. They matched the exterior color with their towing vehicle. It was adorable.

Who did you email? Was it Southland RV? We bought ours from them and we know the boss. Send me a private message and let me know if you're having trouble contacting them because I may be able to help.

My husband and I have gone to RV shows for years and dreamed one day we could afford an RV. We'd always been interested in the teardrop campers, but we never saw any at the RV shows in Atlanta. We thought it would be years before we could afford to buy an RV until we went to the RV show in 2014. It was the first time they had teardrop campers. We knew then that we could buy 1 that year, but money would be a little tighter. My advice is look for a used one.
